I actually thought each wad of yarn was going to be larger. These will be good for the beginners who learn new stitched to use before using a whole skein of yarn. These would also be good for those especially the young beginners to make small items or small items with mixed colors. This would be a good Christmas or birthday gift for a young beginner as it is encased in a beautiful plastic see through window on a storage case where you can see all the beautiful colors!!!

An acquaintance offered to teach me how to crochet, which I’ve always wanted. So I bought this kit, which was highly reviewed and looked great.The person who tried to teach me is an expert with many years of experience. When I opened the kit she immediately said that the very small skeins of yarn are not acrylic, and are poor quality. She also was displeased by the included hooks. She said this kit was not good for a beginner.The minute I tried making the slip knot to begin, the yarn split and unraveled. It was also very thin. My volunteer teacher said don’t use this yarn and gave me an actual large ball of wool that was better in quality.So, overall this kit was pretty much a disappointment, and well past the return window. Guess I’m stuck with it! And no, I never got the hang of it.Will find actual beginners crochet lessons and try again.

Bought this set for our teenage Daughter who loves to knit and thought this may encourage her to learn how to crochet. It is definitely an excellent value set and she is very much enjoying using it and learning how to crochet. It is very good value for money and it feels like you are getting a good set. Makes an excellent present also.
