It's Sonja, but not as you know it.
A different take on the swashbuckling, grog swilling, fast talking rogue warrior we're used to. This is a more pensive, introspective Sonja. A politician, general and tactician who is haunted by her decisions and the burden of responsibility.I'll admit I like the Gail Simone run the best and this feels like an alternative reality (I mean she's already been Queen of the world a couple of times, and this Sonja acts nothing like the free spirited wanderer in previous incarnations). This is an epic political/war drama in which Red Sonja has been shoehorned, but I have enjoyed it all the same.
