It works good for in home use, but would not be good for traveling over a loud crowed of people. The description makes it sound like it's as loud as one of those dinner bell triangles. It's loud but not that loud.It's difficult for some kids to use because the bell clapper is on a free flow chain. In other words, the chain will spin around the inside of the bell up against the wall of it causing the clapper to roll around the sides instead of clap the sides. Think of it like a hola hoop. You have to ring the bell in a certain way to keep it from doing that. We bought it for my son to use when he's sick so he doesn't have to try calling out to us when he needs something. It's taking him time to figure out how to get it to ring properly instead of hula hoop, but he'll eventually get it. As a bonus of it being on a chain, however, you are able to carry it around without making noise by holding the bell upside down so that the clapper chain is collapsed inside the bell.We are satisfied with this product.

Twice in the last month, I've had a varicose vein in my leg open up while I was in the shower. The blood was spurting out in a two-to-three-foot stream. Since it was down by my ankle and I was soaking wet, it was very difficult to do anything about it on my own. I thought I'd bleed out before my wife finally heard me yelling for help. After the last trip to the ER, my wife suggested I get a loud bell that I could ring if this ever happened again. We gave it a test run yesterday. Even with all the doors between her and me closed she still heard it ringing. Hopefully, I won't have to use it.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this bell because I ring bells for the Salvation Army every year. I was tired of having bells that didn’t work or would fall apart. The quality of this bell so far has excepted my expectations. The sound is loud and have had to issues with the inside getting stuck while using. So far it has made it through 4 hours of ringing with no issues. I did drop it today on concrete and it only is dinged a little bit. Over all it’s 5 stars! I will be purchasing more here soon!

LOVE this!! Growing up, we had a brass dinner bell that Mom would ring, standing on the front porch, when dinner was about ready (back in the day when kids played outside!). It was also used when we kids were sick and needed something. Hubby recently had foot surgery so his mobility was limited. Thankfully he didn’t abuse this privilege, but the dinner bell served his purpose in letting me know when he needed something!
