Definitely helpful definitely more convenient and hands-free to be honest.

Giving your cat just enough space but still in control is important and I appreciate how comfortable and easy this leash is to use. It’s also nice to have it retract for easier storage and travel.I personally pair this with the Houdini harness by Outdoor Bengal for each of my two cats.A sturdy, well made product - I highly recommend!

we've used a few different leashes for our cats since we started the harness training process. What we like about The Captain is that it has a bit more tension that our other retractable leash. The extra tension is helpful with our boy cat, as he tends to pull pretty hard at certain points during our walks. And in an urgent moment, we can grab the strap of the leash and not get burned or cut! We're giving 4 stars because the strap itself does tend to do a lot of twisting which requires readjustments throughout the walk, but it's super easy to untwist and has never gotten stuck in the twist.

This Cat leash is made wonderfully and of very good material in my opinion. It also doesn’t have more than necessary retraction-pull for my cat.She almost never paid it any attention while standing or walking aside from a slight curious observation-then cheek-rub.I would unleash it off her harness and latch it back on again discreetly when she decided to lay and roll in the grass to avoid her from gaining more attention to it. If I didn’t unleash it while she was rolling then only then she would try tugging and messing with the leash for restricting her movement there, naturally. It was a good move on my part to keep her not minding it.This was the first time use/test in our backyard. I feel a bit more confident in using it outside walls now.

This leash works just like my dog's bulkier leash, but the latch is smaller and much more suited to my cat. I like that I didn't have to buy a harness with it since I already had one that I like.

Both retracts and locks/unlocks fairly easily. Long enough to allow my cat to explore without getting TOO far/tangled. 😼
