Yes, it can record front and rear images at the same time

Can it be used as normal mirror when off?

Yes, it can be used as a normal mirror although I usually turn it off for driving - I forget often and it's fine, it's just that I prefer the ordinary one. It turns itself on automatically when going into reverse. I hope this helps.

This message comes up when i turn it on:"Sensor fail! Make sure the sensor is ture." How can i fix this?

Not had a problem with mine. Mine is hard wired to the battery but I don't know if that's any different from plugging into the cigarette lighter
