Translated into 36 languages. Her brother was the first Member of Parliament (UK) that died in WWII. She also allowed Gypsies to camp on her land for as long as they wished to stay. Normally Gypsies we’re not wanted and made to move on. They had a Nomadic life.

I love any of the books that they print that are actually written by this wonderful author. This book happens to be number 106 of the Bantam book Series in 1979.This book has wonderful character development. You can feel Susanna's sadness and shame by the way her mother makes her feel. You can also feel the anguish that Fife feels at possibly being disabled for life.Barbara Cartland always adds interesting information about the location where the story located and about the interests of the characters. This is a very good read.C😉

Can get cheaper at a used book store. But it is a great book.
