This is the only nesting pad my girls like! Long story short... These have been installed for over a week and no issues at all. The girls are no longer favoring one box which makes me think that all of the pads are identical. Easy to clean for the occasional broken egg. With 14 egg laying divas, this is a huge relief.After trying several other pads, I decided to give this one a shot. Honestly I didn't have high hopes. I tried the paper backed biodegradable ones made of Aspen... They hated them. After a week there was nothing left in the nesting box but the paper backing. I tried several versions of the poly mats that look like something you'd scrub your boots on... They really hated that. They actually pulled them up and threw them out of the box. Wood shavings and hay were ok, but they'd get shoved down into the roll out trays and block the eggs from rolling down. I even experimented with no nesting pad at all, half the girls loved this option. Then one of them developed a calcium deficiency and her eggs started breaking in that box; which meant I had to remove the box from the wall and hose it out, dry it out, and rehang. So frustrating! Super happy to find an option that seems to make everything happy.

These fit our nesting boxes perfectly. They are soft and well made with no fraying edges or loose, shedding material. We've been using them for a bit over two weeks so far. The chickens like them. We have had to clean them a few times because we have two young hens who insist on roosting in the nesting boxes. They clean up easily with a good shake to get the dried poop off. They are easy to hose off if you need a bit of extra clean up.Compared to excelsior/aspen fiber pads, these are a steal. The artificial turf mats cost far less than a 10 pack of the former and will last a lot longer due to their being able to be cleaned and reused. I considered buying the spiky gray plastic mats that are also sold here, but those just seemed uncomfortable to me. Maybe the chickens would be okay with them, but I didn't want to spend $28 on a mistake. The grass mats are prefect for our needs, plus our hens really seem to like them.

A little pricey, and could use velcro on the bottom to keep them from being scratched out.

Just wish they came in more sizes so I don’t have to cut them to fit! They work great and easy to hose off if you need too!

I recently purchased four chicks. I am a novice when it comes to raising chickens. I started off using hay, like I was advised by multiple people. I didn't like that because it's not sanitary & with chickens you have to worry about salmonella. Baby chicks poop a lot...way more than my human baby did LOL I'm so stoked that I found these! They have changed the game. Sure, a little bit of the grass comes out when I clean them, but they still look beautiful & they're so easy to clean. Now my chicks are in a more sanitary space & I love that. I highly recommend these.
