A fun and tasty kit from Kracie
I got one of these for my daughter last year, and my son wanted one then, so I just tossed this into another Amazon order. The directions of these Popin Cooking and Happy Kitchen kits are all in Japanese, but you can often find help on you tube (emmymadeinjapan does a lot of videos of these candy kits) or just figure it out from the little drawings provided with the directions. None of them are superbly delicious, but that is beside the point-- some do taste pretty good, and the fun is really in the process of making it and not in the eating most times. This one has this little octopus that you use like an eyedropper to pick up a liquid you've created-- then you drop it into this other liquid you've made and the 'drops' turn into little beads that are kind of like jello. How it works? No clue. Is it cool? Absolutely. The bonus of this kit is that the little "drops" are actually sort of tasty-- so you get this cool little science experiment AND a tasty treat. (BTW-- for all of this type of kit that we've tried, everything but water comes in the package-- So you get little dishes/troughs, and tiny measuring scoops and all the ingredients, etc-- all you need to add is tap water.)

Fun for kids and adults!
These little candy kits are so much fun to play with and eat. It makes me miss the days of playing with my EZ bake oven. This kit includes everything you need to make it (just ad water). One of the problems that I have found is that these kits are all in Japanese. However, they also have step by step instructions on the back with pictures so that you really don't have to know how to read the language to use them. But If you are still confused about how to use them, then there are many videos available on You Tube that demonstrate how to use the different candy kits. They come with little packets of different powders that you mix with water to create the candy. The few dollars that you pay to get the item is well worth the kind of fun you have using it. The only other issue is that you have to be patient because it does take a little extra shipping time to get from Japan to the U.S., but once to get it you won't regret it. Enjoy!

Tasted Better than expected!
The texture was a bit strange but the flavour was interesting.Even if you don't read Japanese, the directions on the back of the packaging are pretty straight forward, and the packets are labeled. If you still don't know what to do, you can look up the name of the candy on youtube and watch people do it.The flavour of the gel ball things is a bit sweet and definitely does taste like soda (Ramune). The fluffy stuff that you dip the gels into is very tangy, but has a flavour reminiscent of artificial cotton candy or bubblegum. One of the only downsides to this treat is that once you finish making it, it's eaten pretty quickly. All in all, nice. I will buy it again.

Very Fun Indeed!
I got this as a kind of fun Secret Santa gift for my manager at work. She is into little diy things and so am I, and I saw a video for this thing, and I really wanted this thing. So I ordered two, and they actually got here to the States pretty darn fast from Japan! We did it together and we had a lot of fun doing it, even if we messed up a bit sometimes. It tasted pretty darn good, too! It had a fizzy quality and it was not too sweet. I recommend this to anyone looking to have a bit of silly fun! Kids and adults can both enjoy this little project!

Fun to make, but not very yummy.
This is a lot of fun to make, but if you are expecting something really tasty, don't get your hopes up too high. I bough this to make with the kids that I nanny, and while we had loads of fun making them, they refused to eat it after one taste. They do still play with the little squid thing in the bath though!

Love it!
My favorite Japanese candy kit thus far!I got the soda (aka ramune) flavor. Watching the little 'bubbles' form is some of the most fun to be had making a candy. I also liked the flavor. The bubbles themselves are a bit bland, with only a hint of flavor, vaguely reminiscent of bubble gum. The foam however is very sour, not tear-inducing, but it definitely has some punch. Once you combine the two, you get a fun little treat that tastes exactly like ramune soda. Now I wish I'd gotten both flavors. Definitely ordering again.

A lot of fun.
I love this candy kit. I first saw it on Youtube and I wanted to try it but it was discontinued. As soon as they renewed it I bought this one and the ramune one. The grape one tastes better than this, but they were both fun to do. I kind of wish there were more flavors, though. I plan on buying more of these in the future as long as they don't discontinue it again.

It's a small kit that's easy to do.
I've done a few of the different Kracie candy kit's now and this one was okay. The plastic octopus dropper is really cute and as far as taste it's not horrible, but I have had better one's. It's really simple to do, the picture instructions are easy. But don't expect the soda flavor to be like coke or Pepsi, it's more like a mild cola with bubble gum.
