Review about Morrisons substitution policy
So if, like me, you want to buy a family sized quiche for your family, and order through Amazon, beware of the slightly nonsensical substitution policy.See, I ordered, to feed my son and I, a 450g quiche. And when that wasn't available, this was the substitution offered. "Yes, but two please!" I replied when the message came up."Can only substitute original amount" replied my shopper - before promptly closing the chat and making themselves unavailable. Now, in my mind, when you're talking about food, and items that was quite clearly intended to be the mainstay of a meal "same amount" is, like, and stop me if I'm being silly here, but THE SAME AMOUNT OF FOOD?Not, as was the case here, less than half?I have found shopping with Amazon problematic through lockdown - but irritatingly necessary at times. For example, the prices are significantly higher, and you only rarely get offered the multibuy deals - even if they're printed right there on the product. Plus there's no recourse if something is missing or has gone wrong, and the hand-off seems often to be carried out in secret. But this nonsense of "same amount" meaning something so far from actual common sense that it seemed almost belligerent, is really the final straw. The item itself, by the way, was mostly pastry, with a thin and somewhat tasteless layer of quiche that was dry, had a weird skin layer over an air bubble on the top, and - after everything else - was just profoundly disappointing.
