It's written by Bill Lafleur . . .and you get classical and jazz songs to fill up your time while gigging . . . .I hope you get this Bill Evans song book . . .and if you haven't heard of the song books mentioned earlier . . . I hope you enjoy those too . . . . .Five stars!!!!!!

This book is a great collection of transcriptions. It has exactly what i was looking for, which is accurate Bill Evans improvisations written for guitar. The CD is wonderful and deserves listening time independent of the these lessons. I ve found the the songs to be complex, difficult and beautiful.Some even have such an abundance of B andE notes, they seems as if they were written by Bill with guitar in mind! I would recommend the book to anyone interested in playing unconventional voices and disvoering the fantastic capabilities of the guitar.

Excelent book and very good service by Amazon. I recomend.Bill Evans is the great jazz and piano composer/performer. Sid Jacobs, the arranger, is an wondereful master of strings. Actually. an "avant garde" brain for jazz guitar and music in general. I really love this book.

Fantastic music and amazing guitar playing by Sid Jacobs. Pity the arrangements are not longer although you can of course repeat the parts.

Amazing book

as soon as I looked into this book of transcriptions that this one was different. I am facinated by pianisitc players like George Van Eps, Tal Farlow, Lenny Breau, and Fred Fried and it was the latter two who suggested to me that I listen to Bill Evans. Finding appropriate (and playable) voicings on the guitar for this sort of music is very, very hard to do and in that Sid Jacobs has succeeded beyond expectations and the fomer reason is why I am so glad this book has tab in it. As an added bonus, the accompanying CD is very well recorded and pleasant to listen to. I played it through several times on the car ride home from the store where I purchased this.Other reviewers have complained about the shortness of the arrangements but this was actually the biggest selling point of this book for me. I am frequently off put by books of chord melodies or transcriptions that go on for pages with the same arrangement with little comment on the tunes. The shorter arrangments here command much more attention for both their brevity and extreme attention to the details of the original scores. One of the best transcription books I have encountered, period.

This is really a great book for what it is. I feel that the author really translates the works of Bill Evans to guitar really well. All of the songs are even in the original key. My only gripe is that they are all very short. The longest one is less than three minutes, which is why I gave it a 4 and not a 5.

Just what I was looking for --- a beautiful interpretation of Bill Evans' three-dimensional, harmonically woven melodies for guitar. Truly inspirational!

It's a good book for advanced players but the audio that came with it is slightly different from the tabs on the book
