I got this laundry basket for my teenage son, who has actually commented on how much better it is than his old one.His clothes used to gather in a pile around his nearly empty basket because “the lid was a pain”…now he can toss his them directly into the basket. He knows the lid excuse is history. He likes the graphics on it, it’s neither too “girly” or too “meh”. The rope handles on the basket itself make it easy to move around and add a nice design element, while the removable insert has its own handles which make it easy for him to tote it to the laundry room and do his wash.This basket is larger and taller than his old one. He also likes the frame inside the top and the pole inserts for all four sides so the basket maintains a stable, nice shape (unlike the collapsible style he had before).

I've bought other baskets like this and they were a little thin. These are thicker in material and seem very sturdy.

I keep this hamper right at the entryway to my apartment - a weird place for a hamper but it makes a lot of sense because that's where I drop my karate bag when I come home and it helps remind me to take the sweaty stuff out before it sits and gets even grosser in a closed up bag. It's just the right size for a week's worth of karate/workout stuff so it is really good for me. The mesh bag inside just feels easier to take down to the laundry room than the whole hamper, so it's a nice addition.The bag is very sturdy, the canvas of the hamper is very sturdy. The hamper is supported by a combination of the fabric construction of the canvas and four thin poles that slip into long pocket-like things at each of the vertical edges. These are held in place with Velcro flaps on top. This is where the sturdiness of the whole unit gets a little iffy. The poles slip to the side of the flaps fairly easily and "escape" the top flap, making the whole thing collapse. (It's hard to explain so I apologize if that doesn't make a ton on sense.) So you have to be pretty careful when moving the whole hamper or reattaching the mesh bag. But the good news is that outside of those situations, it stays together really easily AND it's very easy to fix if it does happen.All in all, very nice hamper for my needs. (And it looks nicer than a lot of hampers, too.)

Durable and large enough for a teenage girl.

I’ve seen tons of reviews for a variety of items that come from China & have a bad smell. I usually end up with the same products but never experienced the smell like others. And let me tell you, I am super sensitive to smells; I can’t use scented trash bags bc they give me massive headaches, I can’t stand in line behind someone with strong perfume or I’ll feel like throwing up, & if someone holds my baby for even 5 minutes I’ll smell their body wash/ shampoo/detergent/perfume on her for the rest of the day (& I’ll still smell it on her clothes, from the hamper, until it’s washed). I’m sure my strong sense of smell is why I get headaches & nausea. So I always prepare myself for a crazy strong smell that’s harder to get rid of than ants in the summer … but it never happened, until now. Sure some things arrived with an odor - but I washed/cleaned whatever it was & that was it, smell gone.I always sort of thought people were just overreacting, since I have a super strong sense of smell but never could smell whatever they described. But this one has the “dried dead fish and chemicals” scent I’ve read about so many times. It’s not like it is so powerful that it’ll knock you over as soon as you open the bag. But it’s like “hmm, what’s that?” — so you smell the item, and THEN it knocks you over. So it’s strong but not … big??? I don’t know, it’s hard to describe; but definitely unpleasant.I took it straight out to the garage. I thought about putting it on the screened in porch, but we smoke out there & I don’t want to smell it when I’m trying to “relax”. I thought about washing it, but I don’t know how to wash this laundry hamper without ruining it (& the idea that it could transfer its smell into my machine made me shudder). I’m going to air it out for a bit and try to hit it with the febreeze (unscented of course, so I don’t know if that’ll even work; but adding a fruity or floral scent to the existing scent would just make it so much worse).I am REALLY hoping the smell goes away. As far as I can tell, this is a FANTASTIC hamper; exactly what I wanted. It’s not too big (I need it for a small bathroom where my husband leaves his dirty clothes) but not so small that it’s useless. The rope handles are super SOFT and feel really strong. The material itself is a nice, thick, sturdy linen-type of material. I have other hampers made with thin material that would never stand on their own without the poles; this hamper doesn’t actually NEED the poles to stand open, but I know it will look much more polished/put together with the poles installed. And I really love the removable netted laundry bags for transporting dirty laundry so the hamper itself can stay put. It also seems like it will last much, MUCH longer than the hampers I got my kids (27” tall, skinny hampers on wheels; I forget the brand but there’s a ton of them by all different Asian brands — they fit in the space I need them to but I treat them like they’re fragile, bc they are).I had a hard time choosing a star rating. I really love *almost* everything about this hamper … but I really don’t want my husband to smell like a dead chemical fish 😞. But if you’re one of those people who can’t smell anything and need a smallish hamper, I’m sure you’ll be happy with it (unlike me, bc I can literally still smell it in my nose).

Upon opening up the package I could tell I wasn't going to be satisfied. I have a couple of laundry bags like this one and thought I'd buy one more. Sadly, on this one, the stitching is just awful. There are four tabs where velcro folds over the side supports to keep the rods in place. On all four tabs, the stitching was coming loose like someone had sewn it in about 30 seconds.Even worse, the stitching on one of the bottom corners was done so poorly that the manufacturer essentially sewed one of the corners into itself (concave). It makes it impossible to push one of the support rods all the way down and basically rendering it useless as advertised as it wont stand up straight.I'd pass on this one.

I was a little suspicious at first. Only because I have bought similar ones before from big box stores and they always fall apart at the corners. However, I have used this one for a few weeks now and it is solid. The durability of the corners and how the rods don’t puncture through the fabric was one of my worries but this one seems to be hanging in there. No sign of wear or tear. It was really easy to put together and I love the net that comes out so I can carry it down stairs to the washer.

The mess bag ripped the first time I tried to remove laundry. This meant carrying the whole thing to do wash. Rope handle broke after 3 times going to laundry room. Not worth it. Very disappointed.
