I wish I had discovered this before. In December I re waxed a Barbour coat using their own brand wax; you have to heat it in hot water and try to rub it in evenly before it solidifies, which is almost impossible to do evenly and tidily. I had a jacket to do, and I was dreading it until I was this.This stuff is magic; apply with a fingertip or cloth at room temperature, rub it in with a cloth. It absorbs really well but doesn't dry immediately, so its easy to use. When the jacket was finished I went over it with a hairdryer and hung the jacket up overnight.The result; a perfect, even, non sticky wax finish. The clincher is being able to use this at room temperature, you don't have to worry about the wax cooling and solidifying, you can work at your own pace.Judging by the lower price, and the fact that there is minimal wastage, and the total ease of application, this beats the Barbour product hands down.

Small pot and followed instructions exactly on my dad's wax jacket but it ruined my his coat. Ended up having to buy a brand new coat so £8 plus new coat it ended up costing us dearly. Would not recommend this product at all. Stay clear if I were you.

I had an old wax cotton hat that I needed to reproof and this wax looked to be the business. I was unsure which size to get, but decided on the smallest size as it was only a hat, not a coat or jacket. It proved to be the right decision, I've reproofed my hat and hardly used any of the 150g!! At this rate I've got enough to redo my hat about 100 times over! It went on very easily, I finished it off by using a hair dryer to heat and spread the wax and my hat looks like new! The wax doesn't smell a great deal and, personally, I find the smell quite pleasant, unlike some reviewers. It's not too noticeable anyway and unnoticeable in wearing. I'm very pleased with the wax, the economy of application and the end result. To all intents and purposes, I've now got a brand-new wax cotton hat for about a fiver - excellent!

Although looks to be small amount don't let looks deceive you. Goes heck of a long way. Easy to apply and works a treat.

Its good stuff but I would buy the bigger tub next time the one I brought was a bit small for my needs . So yes I would use the brand again it doe,s the job.
