I got this knowing in advance that I would need to either trick the little lever inside the battery tray to think the door was closed or drill a small hole to allow the battery door to shut, As for Some strange reason the 4000d doesn’t come with the little gap to allow for these dummy batteries like the rest of the canons I’ve owned,So of course I drilled a little hole.Works great!

I’m a proud owner of a Canon 1300D camera. It’s a great camera, but its battery life is a bit of a problem. I have three batteries and I charge and cycle them. This works okay for when I’m out and about, but I do a lot more photography at home. I’ve often cursed Canon for not having an external power option.This power adaptor overcomes most of my frustrations. It’s a simple power supply that has a special adaptor that mimics a Canon battery. You just need to take out the battery and replace it with this special adaptor. My 1300D even has a little groove for the wire to run out of and so that the battery compartment can be fully closed.It works a treat. I no longer have to switch the camera off all the time to save battery power. The only hassle is the camera is tethered by the power lead, but it’s nice and long, so it’s not a big problem. I usually have the USB lead connected anyway, so I have got used to working around the tethering.What’s excellent is the price, currently £11.69, which is a bargain in my mind. So if you use your camera mainly at home or a studio then this power supply is a must.Overall, a really useful addition for Canon cameras. I hope that helps.
