Minwax 70012444 Wood Finish, Dark Walnut, 1 Quart

It goes on smoothly with either a cloth or brush and penetrates quickly. Wiping off the excess is easy, and the final color can be adjusted by how long you let it sit before wiping. Dry time is reasonable for an oil-based stain, making it practical for multi-day projects. One thing to be aware of is cleanup — since this is oil-based, it can be a pain to clean off brushes and tools. I used this on a picnic table that folds into a bench made of common treated pine boards. The boards were very rough considering. I sanded the worst by hand with 80 grit, then with a sander, 120 grit, and lightly finished with 180 grit. The stain went on immediately after. I used Minwax 70001444 Wood Finish, Golden Oak Stain, 1 Quart. The stain dried very quickly outdoors, on a breezy warm night. In less than 24 hours, without sanding, I coated it once with Polyurethane, and then went right back and double coated the top of the boards on the seats and table top. I used Minwax Fast Drying Polyurethane Protective Wood Finish, Warm Satin, 1 Quart. Both products dried quickly, worked marvelously, and looks as you can see.

What a great stain! I started with 2 different wood finishes, one had no finish just a raw pine and the other had a orange finish that I didn't like. This stain covered both woods in 1 coat and they look the same! Will be using again for sure

Fantastic product. I give it 5 stars. I ordered 3 cans. All 3 cans arrived in a sealed plastic safety bag. All 3 cans arrived dented and leaking. The last can leaked considerably with about a third of the can outside of the can but safely within the sealed plastic bag. I give it 5 stars but they need a better way to ship. Great product but open carefully. Stunning finish on my bookcases.

Loved the results, best when used with pre stain

This gave a nice oak effect when used on an Aspen wood stool. But when used on a pine table it went bright golden orange. So when used on the right wood I'm sure this is very good, just sadly not for me.
