ESV Large Print Personal Size Bible (Black)

At this point I’m a collector of Bibles because Ive bought so many in search of the perfect one. I love them all, but this one is exactly what I’ve been looking for!If you’re the kind of person that loves a good book that “feels right in the hand”, this is the one.Its not too wide but not too thin, doesn’t feel light-weighted as if it was of a cheap quality, its weighty in a good way. The leather is soft and the text is accurate (from what I’ve seen), the font is also beautiful with the large chapter numbers and new books staring on a brand new page. It’s easy to hold with one hand standing up, easy take with me everywhere, it smells like a new book should, it lays flat when open, it isn’t too stiff but not flimsy, the line matching and 12pt font makes it so easy to read and very inviting. I believe this would be a great preaching Bible to carry with you everywhere as well if needed. I use Bible highlighters in here and also no-bleed pens and I’ve had no issues with seeing it on the next page, no paper tearing or deep indents from the pen.This Bible is straight to the point and enjoyable to ready daily but I would recommend pairing with a good study Bible for the maps, articles and extra notes!Amazon was a little slow to ship mine but it was worth the wait and definitely worth the price.My only suggestion would be to ship the Bible more securely in a shipping box (mine came in a padded shipping envelope). It’s a high quality Bible and it would be a shame to receive the gift box or the book damaged due to it being tossed around during shipping.Thank you Crossway

This Bible is awesome! Easy to read, words of Jesus in red (hard to find these days!) and lightweight in comparison to my ESV study Bible which weights nearly 5lbs!! Real leathet cover and sewn binding. It should last for years! Great price too!

This Bible is perfect! Love the leather cover! Love the font size, it’s perfect for my eyes. This is a good price for this Bible.

This edition hits a sweet spot for those of us who need larger print but want an attractive and portable format. The height, width and thickness are just right, giving it a very nice feel in the hand. The type size is just right for my eyes, about 12 point, and easy to read, but the best part of this bible is the line matching. This is such a nice feature I can't imagine buying another bible without it.Nevertheless, this bible is only nearly perfect. The hinges are visible beneath the leather cover, which makes for a less than optimal aesthetic. The binding, though durable, is by no means flexible or "floppy" (hopefully it will improve with use). The paper is only passable because of the line matching; otherwise the paper is too thin and shows too much ghosting. Finally, for a short and stout bible such as this one, it would have been a useful trade off to add more pages in order to make room for the excellent ESV one paragraph book intros and a few maps in the back.All in all, I am very pleased with this bible edition. I imagine it will become my standard "every day" bible in my preaching and teaching work. I like the size and weight as well as the type size. It is supposed to be leather bound but the cover feels very thin and brittle. I rubbed mink oil into the leather and heated the surface with a blow dryer allowing the oil to absorb more efficiently then wiped the excess off. Now I have a leather bound bible that looks and feels like leather and feels amazing in my hands. It just needed a little TLC.

I received my new ESV bible today. I absolutely LOVE everything about it! The size, the paper is not too paper thin.. no pun intended and nicely sewn together, we Christs quoted words in red and…beautiful perfect larger print. Why did it take me so long to find this bible? I highly recommend because I don’t know you, but I know you will also love it!

I am in love with my new Bible! It’s pretty and so easy to read with it’s large print but not overly large as I’ve seen some.

I buy lots of Bibles. I've purchased Bibles well over $100 that were not of this quality. Crossway seldom disappoints.Meets all my needs. I use the ESV as a sort of cross reference with my KJV and NASB translations and I needed an ESV w/o study notes.

sturdy feel in your hand, personal size is perfect if you don;t want it too big.the ingrain, paper colour and textfond is overall beautiful.

Some pages look like the printer ran out of ink and is more of a shadow on the page than proper print.Would definitely not recommend.

I love this ESV Bible very much. It is the best ESV for me.

This ESV Bible by Crossway is beyond what I expected. It is beautiful in its simplicity and is superbly bound. Most important to me, now that I'm older with weaker vision, is it's remarkable readability, especially for low light evening reading. Although it has 12 point print and 1936 pages, it is perfectly sized and feels wonderful in the hand. It is easy to hold, to carry, and to read.

I originally purchased this Bible to read before bed. I got the large print specifically for tired eyes. The font and size are very easy to read, the Red Letter Highlights our Lord's word. It's a bigger Bible than the Thinline for sure. The quality is very high as well. I would recommend this Bible for someone who is looking for a home or desk Bible.
