Men's Expedition Scout 40mm Watch, Outdoor & Durable

My son is an avid watch collector and he picked this one out for an "everyday wear" kinda watch. He is young and athletic so it needed to be something comfortable, sporty, and casual. First of all, the size is perfect on him, its versatile and can easily be worn with anything. The band is a great color and extremely comfortable.The face is easy to read and has glow lighting when needed. It's water resistant and functions VERY quietly. Overall, its a great watch for a great price. If you are looking for something with versatility, durable for even rugged wear, extremely great functionality, and just a sharp watch...get this one!!

I love this watch. Great watch for the price. Keeps great time. Easy to read and looks great. I wore it 24/7. If your looking for something simple, its this one.. The only down side is the strap not holding up ( broke within 3months) But then again I was very rough with it and literally never took it off.. Im buying another strap for sure. Maybe diffrent brand.

Its a little on the pricey side for what you get so i would not say its a value but it seems to be well made. Super easy to read in daylight and at night with the indiglow. Size is fine. The case material seems to be of good quality. The lens is also tough. Not versatile but its not ment to be. And it seems to be completely quiet.

It's a great watch. The bin's very comfortable I've been wearing not neutrilistic night on bands for many years. You don't have to worry about getting the band wet. Because weather, once you get it wet, it's destroyed. But the watch, it's very accurate. It's got a beautiful presentation. It's just the right weight. You know, defend super comfortable. And it's very easy to set. I mean, I baby, I baby, my watches. I'm so as much as I try not to get a little scratchy Martino. It happens, but generally they hold up very well and over, you know, I keep them for about 3 years. And you know, then I refoice them with the same model. So I've been buying the same model. Watches like especially this one for many years. And yeah, I bought another time X iron. And you know, a couple days ago, and they're just great watches, you know, so and there, I mean, there are about $20 less than ¥, the cassios, but but this is, you know, a little more dressier, which is what I wanted. So that that's one of the reasons why I bought it. You know plus I've had this brand I've been, you know, I've always loved the expedition series. And the ironman that I focused the other day is also very good too. So those series of arches are great, they're great watches. Do one thing I want to mention about the, you know, they don't have to keep Earth that shift their stationary. So you don't have to worry about this, annoying thing. And the keepers on the an ironman that I got the other day. Ian, you know, it's got the one top keeper and the one top lug. You know, I mean you can adjust the bands which I have done. But I would advise not doing it, because if you've got a really small wrist, I mean, I almost have a wrist of it's 6 holes for you know, from where the top to the middle comes to. So you know, the keepers, you know, I didn't even adjust it. Because it was, you know, you know, because you had destroyed the integrity of the band I believe.And you know, and there's enough room in there.In other word, bows not to wear it not away.The bands, the rubber bands, especially on time x.Going, you know, they're put perfectly.So you can.So you can have it on a high adjustment.And even an even bring the keeper down.And you're going to get great performance out of it

The Quality was exactly the standard that timex set for the most affordable, most durable, most useful, most attractive watches in the industry. I've owned this one since 2022. I have to say it's all of the above WITH ONE EXCEPTION: The Indiglo never worked from the moment I took it out of the box. I didn't think anything of it. I thought it was another diluted standard brought on by the corporate enshitification so pominent in the world today. I WAS WRONG! For under 35$, who cares? It's 2025 and I'm buying another one. I put this thing through hell. I work on Industrial Refrigeration and Mechanical Infrastructure. I'm rough on everything I own and my hands and arms are exposed to 130 degree F Condesner relief temps regularly, 170 degree F Asphalt Equipment Pads (on which I stand for hours in the direct sunlight) in 115 degree F Ambient air temps all while keeping track of timing of sequences of operations, using My Timex as my number-one tool for keeping track of that kinda stuff. Diagnosis would not happen without it. Accuracy: Hmm. a little behind the iphone weekly or monthly; loses about 5 minutes a month? maybe less. Either way, when I was trying to set it to the current time the other day, I pulled the crown right out of the watch to try and set the time. I put it back in and committed to purchasing another one. The crown is still in there, the watch still is keeping time (more slowly) and I just can't update the time it has lost. So in a month or so from now, it will be too far behind the actual time to be useful for me. Very well worth the cost! UPDATE: two months after purchasing the new watch, the indiglo stopped working when I needed in my sleep last night. I have contacted timex. I'll update this review once I get a robo-response from them.

There are many articles online about the Timex Scout 40. There are also many video reviews. And there are the many reviews here on Amazon. I'm not sure what I can add to all that. But I'll try. I'll focus on the luminous hour and minute hands, the second hand, and the accuracy. Some of what I'm writing is based on the way I use the watch and some on info I've gathered from the articles and videos I mentioned above. I'll start with the luminous hands since that's why I bought the watch. None of the current watches I wear have luminous hands. Indiglo on the digital Timex and the LED on the digital Casio can light up the whole watch face. They are activated with a simple press of a button, typically a momentary push. But I wanted a watch where the face or at least the hands are continuously illuminated in a dark environment. I've learned through research online that there are different types of lume that can be applied to watch hands and different grades within each type. I'd like one day to get a watch with tritium tubes illuminating the hands. Till then, the luminescent hands on a Timex does the job. I generally have a strong light source on me such as an LED headlamp. I find I can charge up the watch hands in a few moments from that light. The hands glow bright immediately after charging but become progressively dimmer over time. However, the hands are still legible even hours later in a darkened area with dark adapted eyes. That works for me. And if needed, the hands can be quickly recharged with the portable LED light that's always nearby. A number of reviewers have mentioned that their Scout 40 second hand does not align with the dial markers as it jumps in one second intervals. Apparently, this is an issue across watch brands for quartz watches. One reviewer on Amazon said he exchanged his Scout watch because the second hand did not align and the exchange watch's second hand did align. One video said the user can align the second hand if necessary by taking the watch apart and nudging the second hand. I might try that if needed on a future purchase. But as it is the second hand on the watch I received lines up nicely. There is still a parallax issue when the watch is viewed at certain angles. It's to be expected. The second hand sits above the other hands. One way watch designers minimize parallax is by bending the hands towards the watch face. (Although it might be the primary reason for the bending is to conform with the curve of a domed crystal.) But that's a tricky fix, apparently, that is done by hand and not something that is common. In the case of the Timex Scout, it would be overkill. The accuracy of the Timex Scout according to one website is plus or minus 20 seconds per month, although so far I could not find that spec listed anywhere by Timex. Some owners mention that their Scout watches don't seem to be gaining or losing much time at all. I had a Timex Chronograph like that. I think it was off like 2 seconds a month. The cheapest Casio I could find just to have a backup watch is also amazingly accurate. This Timex Scout is within the plus/minus 20 second a month range. I haven't let it run yet for say a week without resetting to get a better idea of the accuracy. I may update this review if and when I get around to better determining the accuracy.

Just recently bought the Timex expedition scout T49961 field watch and am overly excited about this purchase since it's my first ever Timex watch. Really wanted the basic no extra nonsense or things on the watch most of us don't really need or use daily, other than to tell the time and possibly the date function. I wanted that clean basic field watch look including the 24 hour military time, having the date function on the watch was a bonus plus it's incredibly legible to read from any angle. The movement is a basic standard quartz which doesn't have that loud noticable ticking sound that Timex is well known for. I've heard that Timex possibly looked into the things or sometimes the criticism of the ticking since mine is very quiet maybe including even the materials used in this specific watch. It's versatility is unmatched as far as wearing daily and any occasion to be honest including handling anything thrown it's way. For the beyond very reasonable value for the money and the basic materials used to make this watch I would happily buy again, I did change the original green strap it came with and replaced it with an Altera strap from Amazon, which is a taupe color mix of grey and beige that fits beautifully with the overall aesthetics of my new Timex watch, a Happy satisfied customer and would definitely recommend this watch to anyone.

Solar version falsely advertised as having indiglo. It does not, however it does have luminous numbers and dials. Disappointed only because I purchased the watch for the indiglo, I would have purchased the non solar version if advertised correctly. However, very comfortable and beautiful in my opinion, so I'm keeping it.

Field watch dedikleri saat türünden ve oldukça güzel hoş görünen bir saat.Koleksiyonunuzda bulunması gereken fiyatıyla da uygun bir saat. Ben çok beğendim rengi ve kayışıyla gayet uyumlu. Belki boyut olarak 2-3 mm daha büyük olabilirdi ama yine de gayet iyi ortalama her bilekte güzel görünecek bir saat. 13 gün içinde elime ulaştı.Tavsiye ediyorum.

Ótimo relógio, bom acabamento, pulseira em couro legítimo confortável, coroa firme e a iluminação Indiglo é sensacional, diferente de qualquer outra coisa. Porém o tamanho de 40mm vai ficar um pouco pequeno em pulsos mais grossos, mas nada que impeça o costume com o tempo. A pulseira apresenta marcas facilmente por ser de couro. E realmente o tique dele é um pouco alto, se tiver em um quarto sem barulho e o relógio estiver próximo da para ouvir. Resumindo, vale muito a pena pelo custo-benefício e história da marca.
