The Tickle Tree (Meadowside Picture Books) Hardcover – Picture Book, September 27, 2012

I bought this book when I was honestly looking at a deal on a children's book bundle on another website and I was looking on Amazon for reviews on those books. This one popped up as "People who viewed this also viewed..."The price of $2.80 and the picture of the book drew me to it. I bought it because where can one find a book for $2.80, brand new, hard cover, these days? And the picture looked interesting enough.It is a beautiful book. Draws you into each scene. The drawings are exciting but at the same time give a comforting-ready-for-bed type of feeling. There are also a lot of things to look at and find on its pages, which my daughter loves to do.Great addition to our library.

The drawings are very well done although there were a few places I would have liked something a little different--mostly they are amazing. It is the writing that I just found amazing. Something like Lewis Carol meets Shel Silverstein but without satire and just beauty. My son picked the book out off the shelf and spent a couple of weeks asking for it daily which delighted me because I enjoyed it so much. He is 2, but I think this book will have long shelf life sense I'm enjoying it as an adult. I plan on giving this as several Christmas gifts.Update May 2013: We still love this book. Ordered the Fabulous Flapdoodles by the same author and it is a regular favorite as well.

This book. We love this book. My daughter is not even two and she would have me read this book a hundred times over. It is such an imaginative writing and the illustrations are fantastic!

Perfect, bought this to replace the worn out copy that had been through several kids. Perfect condition and a great children's book

This book is no longer in print and my kids were upset because a friend kept it, although I don't think she realized it was mine. My kids favorite book. Glad it was in stock here. Nice condition as well.

I bought this to give as either a baby shower or Christmas gift (can't remember which) for my then soon-to-be niece. Such a cute story with really imaginative drawings!

a little hard to read at first, because of the tongue twisting words and they layout of the words, but after you read it a few times it is easier and it is a fun book to read. toddlers will love it.

My daughter has loved this book since she was just over one and its a firm favourite in our bedtime routine.. The rhythm makes it a pleasure to read and the images are really engaging. She has more recently begun to join in with sounds, actions and signs making it more fun with every read.It's quite a fantastic book - the Grimbles on Mars, the Musical Meep and the Pink Puffalunk - it's not a linguistic work but that's the whole fun of it.

This is a glorious bedtime read, wonderfully imaginative and full of whimsy. There isn't a "story" as such, but it serves as a celebration of inventiveness and the power of the imagination. The illustrations match the words perfectly and are great fun. My 2 year old and I give it two thumbs up!

Too scary for toddlers. Complicated nonsense words.

It's my two years old son's favorite, we read it every night. Beautifully illustrated, it's a journey through the imagination.
