I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. It has the perfect language of touching your heart with sincere, thought-provoking honesty and comments from the authors with a pleasant surprise of one author contributing to this book knowing her ultimate destiny, just enough humor and wit to keep it moving along, and finally the depth and courage to say what we all think when we are faced with the situation of coping and handling with the diagnosis of cancer. The authors effectively highlight all of the issues when faced with the possibility of death and illustrate the long, courageous fight of an amazing woman. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has been diagnosed with or has a friend/loved one with cancer, and anyone who is grieving the loss of a close friend/loved one for any other cause of death.

I’ve read Chuck Wilson’s the road home as I was traveling by train. It was very moving an emotional roller coaster of laughter and tears, The book was so real and heart felt as if I was watching a motion picture. I highly recommend this book as a easy read for all of you steadfast readers that like to have a tugging at your heart. It will take you into a special place a home which will remind you of A normal middle-class family that I’m sure you have met in your life‘s journey. I felt like I was taken back to the days of the book terms of endearment. Please do yourself a favor and get a great summer read I give this book 5 stars Bravo 👏👏

The Road Home is a beautifully written and true account of Chuck & Debbie’s love for each other and their decades long challenge with Debbie’s numerous cancer diagnoses. Written by both Chuck & Debbie you feel as if you are sitting across from both of them as they relate their thoughts, fears, and love in an intimate and honest manner. Anyone who reads this book will both laugh and cry many times! Reading it you will see so clearly what love, respect, honesty, commitment, and marriage really are all about! A truly inspirational book. I recommend it highly to anyone.

I am fortunate to have known Debbie and Chuck. I was always amazed how positive Debbie was, and her fight and attitude toward cancer is evident in this book. I think they both did a great job sharing their life through witty writing and anecdotes.

This book is amazing! I couldn't put it down. I have NEVER EVER read a book I couldn't put down or have to read in total silence. This I could read with the TV blaring, and I couldn't even hear the TV. It is a beautiful story of love, faith, overwhelming devotion in the face of unending challenge. It probably helped that I knew Debbie growing up, but I felt like I was "in" this book. At some point, I am going to read it again. I think about it a lot even now since I've read it. It is an amazing read!

This book is very well written. It portrays, in a very thoughtful and genuine way, how love and faith helped this family deal with a devastating disease. Chuck and Debbie's deep love and acceptance of each other, combined with their faith and courage, paved the road home with grace and dignity. A book that touches your heart and shows you how God can work in your life. A great read and a must for any family dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

This book was extremely well written! I loved how the medical side was explained without becoming bogged down in too many terms a layperson wouldn’t understand. I loved the journey that was both emotional and spiritual. And I came to love Debbie and Chuck as they shared their extraordinary circumstances. At the end, all my questions were answered and I felt I had actually taken the journey with them. I highly recommend this book!

I have the privilege of knowing Chuck through a project we did together, so the read was a personal journey for me. Chuck and Debbie had a relationship that could be a model for all of us. The honesty, humour and faith they shared shone through in the book. The heroic saga described in sometimes painful detail is something that will stay with me for a very long time.
