Absolutely love this mat! I’ve been doing jigsaw puzzle for a long time and I got this mat based on the recommendations of my puzzle group. I got this mat yesterday and transferred the puzzle I was working on from my felt mat to this mat to test it out. This mat has two side, a rubber grip side so the mat doesn’t move on the table and a smooth side for puzzling. I Love that I can move large section of my puzzle around without it snagging like it did on my felt mat and this mat feels nice and cool to the touch. I’ve ordered another mat similar to this from another company and this one is so much better. Material is thicker, sturdier and the surface is definitely smoother but not slippery. You can move the puzzle around on the mat easily by using your hand. And the pieces stay where you placed them without moving around or breaking up.

I love this puzzle mat. It is a good size for what I need. I mostly do 1000 piece puzzles and this mat gives me plenty of working space. It does come with a crease down the middle. I took my clothes steamer to it and I haven't had any issue with it. I love that one side is more non slip so it doesn't move around on the table and the other side lets you slide the puzzle pieces around perfectly!Something that I don't like is that it isn't super sturdy on its own. I like to puzzle on my bed and working on the mat makes it hard to get the pieces to lay flat. Also, when I unroll the mat the pieces don't always lay back flat. I have to spend a minute flattening everything down.All in all, I am glad to have this mat!

This is large enough for a good sized puzzle, the one I am working on right now is 27 x 23 inches and there is still room about 18 inches at the top to do an even larger puzzle. Like I had read in the reviews, it does have a "bump" in the middle from being folder in the packaging. That is a minor annoyance. I had hoped that I could iron it out, but when I felt the fabric I was afraid that a hot iron might damage it. It is a very sturdy felt and I like the fact that it is black. I would'nt want to do a puzzle with a lot of black pieces on it.

For those of you interested in purchasing a puzzle mat, I would highly recommend this one! I’ve been puzzling almost my whole life. I had a one of the old puzzle mats growing up- the felt kind. It left a lot to be desired. The pieces stuck and the completed sections were always left haggard after unrolling. I had resolved that there was no such thing as a good puzzle mat… Until I ordered this one. I’m very impressed with the quality and usability of this puzzle mat!Like some of the other reviewers, my mat did have some “cracking” on the rubber side from being folded and packed into a box for an extended period of time. However, the “crack” is on the bottom side. There’s still a visible seam along the middle of the top side of the mat, but it seems to be purely cosmetic- it doesn’t interfere with puzzling. I suppose this could be resolved by packing/shipping the mat without folding it, but I realize that may create some logistical challenges. Again, I only found this to be a cosmetic issue.I really like that pieces can slide across the surface of this puzzle mat.! My #1 annoyance with felt puzzle mats was pieces sticking to the mat. The only down side to the slick surface is that loose pieces get a little jostled when you unroll a stored puzzle. I didn’t find that to be a big deal, though.There is a foam core to roll the mat around to keep the coil from being too tight. The foam core come in 2 pieces that are attached using a Velcro dot in each end. That allows it to be detached and stored somewhere more easily while puzzling.The mat comes with 3 velcro straps to keep it rolled up. I was curious if the slick surface would all loose pieces to fall out of the rolled mat was set up on its end. I was pleased to find that everything stay secured in the rolled mat. I was careful to keep my loose pieces closer to the center of the mat, though. If you had loose pieces right up near the upper or lower edge, you may run the risk of some falling out.I was a little concerned that I had rolled the puzzle too tightly on my first use. The completed sections seemed like they had a slight bow after I unrolled it. I was completing a 1,000 piece buffalo puzzle so the pieces were fairly small. However, after about an hour, the pieces all seemed to be fitting normally and lay flat. I had my puzzle stored for about 16 hours. I could see this affecting the pieces more if I was doing a puzzle with larger pieces.I did have a small issue with puzzle dust sticking to the mat. It wasn’t able to easily swipe it off with my hand, but a quick pass with a lint roller took care of it! Easy solution!I did a 1,000 pieces puzzle on this mat. I’m not a sorter and I found that there was enough room to scatter all the pieces onto the mat. I haven’t tested it, but I think it would be too small for a 2,000 piece puzzle unless it had narrow/wide dimensions.Nothing beats a large, undisturbed puzzle table. However, if you love puzzling, but lack a safe puzzle table due to kids, pets, or lack of space, then this mat would be a really solid option. Pair it with some sorting trays and you can easily stash you puzzle and pieces out of reach when needed.

I really like the weight of it. Very sturdy. Should hold up for many years. It had a crease in the middle that lays flat after applying steam and weights.I do have 3 suggestions for improvement.1. An attached cover to drape over the puzzle would be beneficial.2. The velcro dots on the rolling tube do not stay glued to the roller ends. The velcro is strong and holds together well.3. A strip of velcro on the bag for the straps would be nice. The straps get loose and could get lost.All said and done, I really like this product.

This is a great invention! This is my first time using a portable puzzle caddy and I can’t wait to take my puzzles on the go now. I did the entire puzzle on the mat but my puzzle never laid completely flat on top, but hopefully overtime that changes. Assembling the roller and rolling up the puzzle was very simple. There are straps and a bag included for extra security so your puzzle remains rolled and if any pieces were to fall they would do so into the bag. Unrolling the puzzle the puzzle was curled at the edges and some raised up pieces but those were all easy to push back down. Overall, I love my new puzzle caddy and can’t wait to bring a puzzle on my next trip!

This does come with a carrying case for transport, and the mat is a large and thick mat! The rolling mechanism is two pieces of styrofoam with Velcro to hold them together. However, when rolling up the current puzzle I am working on, when it was unrolled, the puzzle was curled and some pieces were in a different location. Concept is really good, but the execution is not as easy.
