New S-Tech Apple iPad Air 1st Generation 9.7" (2014 Model) Smart Cover Black Soft Leather Wallet Sleep / Wake Flip Folio Case iPad Air Models A1474 / A1475

Bought this to replace a basic cover for my iPad Air 1st gen (A1474). The iPad slid in without trouble and has a snug fit once it’s in place. I like the 4 inch tab on the right side that tucks behind the back of the iPad for an even more secure fit. I can shake the outer cover and the iPad stays securely inside. Perfectly placed cut outs for buttons, camera, ports, etc. The side pocket is able to hold a few small documents inside (example: 8/12” x 11” sheet of paper folded in half).I bought the black with tan interior, the tan is not as pale as the photo, more of a camel color. The cover has a matt finish with a nubby leather-like look and feel. Not shiny or slippery, and looks like a high end cover. The only improvement I can think of would be to enable the iPad to sit vertically as well as horizontally. Not a deal breaker because this is the best fitting, best looking cover for the money and I am quite happy with the purchase.

I purchased this for my wife. She loves it. It is well constructed and the fit is great! All control buttons on the iPad are easily accessed. The three strips that allow three different viewing angles work very well to keep it from slipping down! There are two things worth mentioning: There’s little to no corner protection so if you’re always dropping your iPad you should choose another case. The case doesn’t rotate so make sure you understand that when purchasing. We are very pleased with this product and would definitely buy it again!

I bought this cover to replace my original iPAD magnetic cover which fell apart after 2 years. It has a real nice appearance, but it feels bulky. It makes the iPAD double in thickness. That's probably a good thing from a protection standpoint but it feels heavy now. The leather looks good but not high quality. I immediately applied some leather conditioning to it, to soften it up, to prevent and potential cracking. So far so good. It's been a good purchase for a reasonable price.

They don't make ipad covers like these anymore - sturdy, well-defined, and effective! We had an older generation ipad and the cover was falling apart (thanks to heavy use by 2 kids). We looked at a bunch before settling on this one and we're so glad we did. It automatically turns off the ipad when you close the cover. The buttons also match perfectly with the cutouts. Best part is that it doesn't feel like it's cheap pleather!

Too soon to judge durability, but seems it will endure. Only obvious issue is the die-cut area around the “home key”, which is mis-placed with respect to centering. This seems to be the consequence of poor positioning prior to die-cutting the opening which speaks negatively to the production quality control, as well as lax “final inspection”. Too bad . . . Otherwise it seems to be well done.George Wolf

I was hoping this iPad cover would do more than just provide protection (which it does). It has some major design flaws - specifically around the home button and volume control buttons on the side.The coverage area around the home button is too large and makes it very difficult to use the home button properly. This leads to lots of unwanted “Siri” calls. Additionally, there is no space left for the volume buttons. I solved this by literally cutting out a chunk of the material so I could access the buttons.Considering the price, these flaws should not exist. Look elsewhere.

Great iPad cover for the price. I saw iPad covers at Wal-Mart that were twice the cost and not nearly as nice as this one. In the product photo you see there is an outside pocket in which to put documents. Mine appeard to be sewn shut, but upon further examination, it just needed to be pulled apart with a wee bit of force. It does not protect the corners very well which is a bit of a concern to me as most damage occurs when dropped on its corner. If you look at the product photo you will see that the corners are exposed. I would also recommend, for even more protection, a glass screen protector. The plastic ones are not very protective.

This is my second one. The first one lasted several years of hard use. I bought this one because it fits myIPad exactly and it’s durable.I wish this new one had the small pockets underneath the device like the old one had. I used these two pockets religiously. The big pocket on the outside is just not functional for me.
