Love or Hate Him... The Character You Can't Ignore or Ever Forget
This was a 2014 bundle set. Still editing issues as well as minor plot errors in Freed (same as the original edit). What a fun journey it was though to read them as one continuous story. That's the way I like to read it. Fifty Shades of Grey really needs Darker (2nd book and my favourite) to complete the story and Freed is all icing on the cake.I love the constant action in the book. It picks up in Darker and never stops. It's great to have CPOVs at the end of the trilogy. I think E.L James writes a really interesting story from his point of view. It gives great insight into his character. She has written him so well. There is no way you could confuse Christian Trevelyan Grey with anyone else. He's our Fifty Shades. I have to admit that I see a younger E.L James as our Anastasia Rose Grey ne: Steele. Especially in Freed.I love the relationship glimpses we get between Christian and his mother Grace. They ring so true ad endearing. His mothers struggle to show love and protection to the untouchable boy, powerfully moving. No, it's not the best written piece of literature out there. It was never meant to be.Yes, it's the most passion inducing, reaction creating, character driven book in our recent history. Even if you don't like it and its not the book for you, you just can't forget 50 Shades.Any author that can stir you like that without laving you wounded from the narrative is a genius in my book. What more do you want than the pleasure of turning the page, sharing a story, arguing of the action?I say, well done Miss James. Well done Icy. Well done author girl. And thank you for writing.SQIt's been a journey, this story. I'd recommend a reread before the move release in February 2015.SQ

Loved them
I sat a watch the fifty shades on amazon prime the other day and thought I would re read the book I had read them when they first come out and enjoy them so I ordered them from my kindle to read again and I have to say I think I enjoy them more even more than I did first time round I couldn't put them down and i think the films left a lot of the true essence of Christian out because in the book his sense of humour come out but it is not in the film I would recommend anyone hoo has read these books before please read them again I loved them

I really enjoyed this trilogy
I really enjoyed this trilogy.By reading the other reviews I'm surprised at the amount of negativity. I thought the books had a fantastic story line, I loved the twists and turns from the second one right the way through to the last chapter of the third. However I must admit I'm not very experienced with all this (being 24 and have been with the same partner for over 5 years), but surely after the amount of times they had sex someone is going to get a bit sore! The first book, boring, the way it was written was just so dreary and yawn. There wasn't much of a story to it, you have 1 person who is beautiful and stinking rich, and surprise surprise every female around wants him. Then you have the shy boring bookaholic, who surprise surprise falls head over heels. As the story goes on, she doesn't get any stronger with this man, she stays the same shy 'hearts and flowers' kind of girl. I'm surprised at this, most women get stronger with their man (I know I have over the years). The other problem I had with it, its very predictable. A reader should never be able to predict a particular thing happening and then low and behold a few chapters later its happened. Surprise! Well actually, no, not really...Although some events within the trilogy did shock me and didn't see a lot of it coming! So me being a naïve 24 year old, I loved it. Have a read and get lost in their fast pacing world. I think its worth it.

Good books
I bought these originally as a hardback but wanted them on my kindle so i could read them whenever i wanted. They are a good book when i first bought them i had no idea what the story was about i had heard it was originally from Twilight fan fiction and someone had just decided to right about that caught a nation and everyone kept talking about it so i decided to see what all the hype was about so i was a little shocked at the first mention of S&M in the book as i had no idea it was coming. You can she isnt a writter by trade as some of the phrases and wording isnt great compared to other authors but the storylines is ok and i suppose if your looking to see what the hype is about it's a good readI have read it a couple of times because i like the storyline that Christian has found everything he could want in Ana without realising it and i guess i am a romantic at heart. My only issue with this is the books come as one book broken into three and i would have preferred if they came as three seperate book on my kindle as sometimes i like to read just one book in a triology rather than all of themGood books, good buy

Packaging is sub par
Today I have received the box set, while the damages to my box set are purely cosmetic, the damage is ver obvious. The Amazon packaging did not support all sides of the box set, I believe this is the cause of the damage to its exterior. However on one of the books (second image) the back cover corner is also damaged, this again is a cosmetic issue, but this is not the same corner that was damaged in the first image. The books are lovely and fine if you do not mind minor cosmetic issues, bear in mind that while my damage is only minor, yours may be worse.(Parcel was delivered via DPD)I love the actual stories though

Popular for a reason
Bought these for my wife as she was a big fan of the movies. She thought they were very well written and even better than the movies.

Great trilogy
Packed with riveting drama and painful truths, this book powerfully illustrates the devastation of psychological abuse and the strength of the survivors.

Amazing
The book is so beautifully written that one can't stop reading. There's an urge to continue reading it. You fall in love with the characters.Only issue with the single trilogy book is that page numbers don't go further beyond page 515. The second part has an abrupt ending. Probably three pages are missing in the trilogy book.
