Excellent egg cooker for very little investment
My GT Express nonstick coating wore off and everything was sticking so I finally had to part with it and try to find something new for my omelets. This had become especially crucial since I recently became a low carb dieter. I read a bunch of the excellent reviews for this omelet maker and decided to take the plunge. When I received the product I was very impressed with the high quality of the cooker vs. the GT Express for half the money. This thing is solid and has top quality nonstick cooking surfaces.Based on reading the reviews I ignored the recommended cooking times and set the timer for 9 minutes for my first two omelets. I believe this was a mistake as my omelets were a little too brown and overdone for my taste, but still very delicious. Next time I will follow the instructions and hopefully have a moister result which is my preference. Also I will add a tiny bit of butter for taste's sake. So there is a little learning curve to make the perfect omelet for your own preference but that is expected for any new appliance. In addition I am glad to see that many people use this device for poached or sunny side up eggs as I like to vary my breakfast choices which is hard to do with low carb eating. I also used to do that in the GT Express so good to know I am not giving up any functionality. For anyone who enjoys eggs even once or twice a week I would highly recommend this product. After owning for about two weeks now I want to update to say I am in LOVE with this appliance. I have now gotten the cooking times down for my personal preference and have made "sunny side up" eggs as well as omelets. The eggs and omelets come out perfectly cooked and tender. I cannot stand tough eggs so I was really happy that I had just accidentally overcooked them the first time. I add the tiniest bit of butter for flavor and it doesn't burn so I know the temperature is not too high for eggs. My previous recommendation stands but has more data to back it up now.

Hard to find
Several years ago I bought a new Sylvania omelette maker for $20. It lasted for many years. When the Teflon coating came off I threw it away. That's when I realized that I couldn't find another one. I tried a different brand but it didn't work for me.Then I found this one. Paid $40 for it. I was thrilled when it came in the original packaging. Then I opened it up and saw that it was scratched in several places. (Highlighted all the scratches). But, considering how hard it was to find, I'm not giving it up. Still works perfectly. A one egg omelette for me and one for my sister. Traditional omelette? No. But, quick, easy and customizable.

Not really an omelet
I have used this several times after owning it only a few weeks. It seems fairly well made, and very easy to use and clean. There is no power switch, or controls of any kind, you plug it in, then unplug when it's done.A red light on top comes on when the unit is heating, so it cycles on and off.It does not make actual omelets though, it's more like a formed and molded scrambled egg.The filling you add to the egg is mixed up through it, not like a real omelet, that has the fillingonly in the middle. Also, if I put in a whole slice of cheese, for a single "omelet", it will run over and make a mess.I can only use about 1/2 a slice of cheese. It helps if you rub a little butter on both lower and upper molds. The egg is easier to remove, andit gets a little browner. It's about the same as if you scrambled an egg up with other stuff, poured it into a cup, and nuked it.But it tastes much better then nuked eggs. The omelets are also very small, about 5'' long, but you can make 2 of them.I do like it because it's easier to clean then using a frying pan and spatula, only it takes a little longer. If it were any more expensive then it is, I would say forget it. But at the price, I cant complain.

Nice little machine
This is a nice little machine. I was replacing my west bend four egg cooker which got used quite often. I really like that machine so I will be getting a new plate for the west bend, as this machine will never replace it. About the omelet maker. 1. Positive review: Makes good quality poached eggs, 2 table spoons of water in each maker. Said to cook 3.5 to 4 minutes. I ended up cooking the poached eggs for about 7 minutes. 2. A small negative review on the omelet maker, not what I would call an omelet. All though were ok and edible. With me being an omelet connoisseur, I could not except anything in an omelet but a superb omelet. This machine will not do that. 3. Positive review on clean up. This machine is clearly the easiest machine to clean I have ever used. I gave this machine a 4 stars for the tasty poached eggs and ease of clean up. As far as omelets.I feel most people would think they were good. Some times I write blog post on what I feel are excellent products. This one will not go on the blog. But still a good product for the money.RegardsRichard Faller

Ease of use
This omelet maker is easy for me to use. Such items make cooking and meal preparation just a little easier than using the conventional stove. It makes lovely little omelets and with imagination creates and presents a lovely meal. It is very convenient and easy to use.

Waste of money in my eye
I was really disappointed with this product!Although the outside of the omelet cooked after 10 minutes, the middle of the omelet was still runny. So for those people who like their omelet cooked right through like I do, don't bother with this omelet maker.
