String is a very important thing! Rope is thicker, but string is quicker - or so said Spike Milligan. This reel of 3mm string is thicker than some and a great asset to have in a desk drawer or a kitchen cupboard. As a society we have moved away from the daily use of string, but there are still purposes for which it is ideal and when you need it, you need it. Actually, I keep one of these in my car boot so that if I need to transport anything that won't allow me to lower my hatch lid that I can tie it down so it doesn't fly up when driving.This is a great product and so useful in the garden (tying up plants) and in crafts too. An excellent purchase!

I am pleased with this spool of cotton yarn. It’s very thick and very strong. When using yarn I often undo my work and rework the same yarn, this usually makes the thread untwine and split, this did not happen with this yarn. I used a 7mm hook but I felt it wasn’t big enough so I reworked the yarn with a 10mm hook keeping the tension loose. My intention was to make a few heavy duty wash cloths for the kitchen but the yarn is too thick for this and ended up making pot holders instead and some coasters for cups. There is no elasticity in this yarn so it does hold its form and washes really well without any deterioration to the strands. I washed it at a high temperature to relax the yarn. I’m very happy with my overall finish. The price is a bit on the high side but I think the quality is so good. I would not buy this thread had I have been looking in particular for a yarn like this because of the price being a little on the high side. When buying online it’s difficult to get a good idea of its quality but had I have purchased this I would be saying now that it was worthwhile paying that bit extra for the quality of it.

This is a gorgeously thick, twisted cotton rope twine that is perfect for crafting projects. It twists well and is soft and is ideal for finger knitting, plaiting and macrame work.It is unbleached and off-white in terms of colour.

It's string. What can you say? It is excellent quality and is cotton. You can dye it. It is easy to cut to what length you want. Good value and quality.

A ball of string in our house is a definite must-have item. Used for tying plants up, for crafting, and for anything that requires string. This is a good thickness, it is also quite soft so it makes it ideal for tender stemmed plants that require additional support against stakes.This is a good quality string but the softness does give it a slightly fluffy feel, this is ideal for use in and around the garden and house. Using is for macrame I found this is absolutely perfect as the softness of the string allows for a more supple design rather than a rigid one.A good size length and thickness that is good quality and I am happy to recommend it.

This 2mm thick yarn is soft and has an attractive off-white colour. It's more visually appealing than bleached white twine for tying up gifts and parcels, which is my primary intended use. It does, however, come at quite a premium over more basic string.It's advertised for macrame, but I don't know how good it would be for weaving or plaiting with, as each of the three strands falls apart quite easily when separated out, being made of only five cores to each strand. I have some similar 3mm three-stranded yarn that has over sixty cores, compared with the fifteen of this yarn, and so holds together much better when opened up into three strands.

This is much more money than the one I bought last month. That one was 5 pounds ish more but 260 metres. This one is just 100 metres and also I think slightly less fat though described as 3 mm too when I held it next to that one looks less.So personally I wouldn't buy it.It comes with plastic shrink wrap over it but otherwise simply packaged.

I like the texture of the yarn as even though it is cotton it has a nice soft texture therefore extremely easy to use especially if being worked using a crochet hook.An excellent product which I am happy to recommend.

Das Garn ist ja eigentlich für Makamee-Arbeiten gedacht. Da ich aber zwei linke Hände habe, kommt das für mich nicht in Frage. Ich habe mir das Garn bestellt, um Geschenke schön einzupacken. Ich finde die Kombi Packpapier plus Baumwollgarn sehr schön.Das Garn kommt auf einer Rolle aufgewickelt. Sehr angenehm finde ich schon einmal, dass es überhaupt nicht unangenehm riecht. Ich hatte in der Vergangenheit schon Garn gekauft, das man überhaupt nicht nutzen konnte, weil es wie ein alter Socken roch.Das Garn ist ganz weich und fühlt sich toll an. Es fusselt teilweise ein bisschen, was ich aber bei meinem Zweck nicht schlimm finde. Die abgeschnittenen Enden fransen leicht aus; hier behelfe ich mir mit Fray Check (Fransenstopp).Ich habe das Garn in 2 mm Stärke bestellt, finde es aber etwas zu dünn und würde beim nächsten Mal in 3 mm Stärke nehmen.Ich finde den Preis für 100 Meter Länge günstig.

Mit den 100m Länge lassen sich auch einige Projekte umsetzen.Das Baumwoll-Garn wirkt hochwertig und reißfest. Außerdem lässt es sich gut abrollen und nach Bedarf mit einem kleinen Kamm schnell auseinander kämmen, damit man fransige Enden hat (z.B. bei Untersetzern).Neben der typischen Makramee-Deko, wie Wandbehänge an Ästen, Untersetzer/Tischläufer, Schlüsselanhänger oder "Pflanzenampelhalter", wirkt das Garn auch sehr schön als Geschenkband in Kombi mit Packpapier oder als Aufhängmöglichkeit für Polaroids oder andere Bilder.Schaut euch im Internet einige Videos zu Makramee an. Ich entdecke gerade die Kunst des Makramee für mich, und dafür ist dieses Garn natürlich bestens geeignet. Es ist sorgfältig verarbeitet, was das ausfransen angeht verhält es sich hier eben wie Baumwollgarn. Es bleibt nicht aus, die Enden sind nach dem Abschneiden eben nicht mehr so fest wie ein intakter Strick, aber sie troddeln auch nicht unkontrolliert auf. Zudem lässt sich das Garn für allerlei DIY Ideen verwenden die man so hat, und lässt sich dank der Dicke auch mit Heißkleber sehr gut befestigen, ohne sich die Finger zu verbrennen. Hier kann man wirklich nichts falsch machen.

Ich mag Makramees sehr, habe schon mehrere Zuhause. Es gibt welche, die habe ich fertig gekauft, aber auch solche, die ich selbst gemacht hatte.Wenn man etwas selbst macht, ist es voll und ganz im Sinne von dem, der es gemacht hatte und somit auch viel schöner.Deswegen möchte ich mir welche noch wieder selbst machen... Dazu brauche ich jedoch den Garn.Den habe ich hier entdeckt und direkt bestellt.Es ist 3 mm dick und 10 Meter lang.Damit kann man schon was machen...Die Arbeit selbst ist sehr gut und angenehm.In ein paar Stunden hatte ich meine Makramee fertig.Bin begeistert. ;-)

Das Garn lässt sich sehr schön für Makramee Projekte verwenden. Es liegt sehr gut in der Hand, fühlt sich auf der Haut und beim Knoten sehr weich an und ist vollkommen geruchlos. Wenn man sich beim Knoten mal vertan hat lässt sich der Fehler schnell wieder lösen und das Garn bleibt trotzdem weiterhin stabil.Farbe und Haptik des "rohen" Garns und auch des fertiggestellten Projektes sind sehr ansprechend. Ich würde es für meine Bastelarbeiten und Kunstprojekte im ganzen Haus immer wieder gern verwenden.
