Vornado 610DC Energy Smart Medium Air Circulator Fan with Variable Speed Control

The “air vortex” actually does work. Not sure why there is so much disputing this. I have a long hallway and on full the wind blasts down it in a very concentrated beam. Once it reaches a wall or ceiling it scatters in different directions and circulates. Air circulation does not feel like a fan directly on you or an AC. It’s not magic. However it removes the feeling of heavy stagnant air in a room. Multiple uses. On full blast I direct cold air from a portable AC down a hallway. On low modes it is useful for air circulation when the AC is off or to clear out a Smokey room with an open window. Especially useful when cooking.It’s totally silent on all of the low speeds. The white noise is tuned to a fairly low frequency so on high it is not annoying at a distance. Not sure why you would turn it on high at close range tho...I bought this specific model because of its low electrical usage and the dial. I compared it to honeywell ones I had previously which are a knockoff of this basic design and they are complete junk in comparison. They do not focus the air or push it far and they are loud.Lastly this model is assembled in USA. So that partially justifies a higher price. Some of their models aren’t. They seem overall to be overpriced based off brand loyalty but they do have a longer warranty. This model saves power so assuming the warranty is useful it will pay for itself.

Avec les taxes, ça reste cher. Certes ce produit est garantie 10 ans, mais à ce prix je pourrais acheter 7 ventilateurs Honeywell garantie 1 à 2 ans chaque. Certes ils ne seraient pas aussi beaux.Le gros plus de ce produit est son variateur continue, de manipulation très souple. Cela permet aux maniaques de la précision comme moi de profiter pleinement du produit.Les gonds qui servent à la rotation du plan de rotation du ventilateur me semble être assez fragiles car tout en plastique. Je ne m'amuserais pas à trop les manipuler.J'aurais aimé avoir un ventilateur rétro avec variateur continue garantie 10 ans mais malheureusement Vornado n'a pas tout.Globalement je suis satisfait mais on est pas si loin des prix de bons ventilateurs de plafonds alors il faut bien peser la balance.

Using this to circulate the air in a hot attic bedroom in Southern Ontario summer. It is amazing. As other reviews mention, it is louder at higher settings, but I don't mind the white noise - besides, it's worth it! I'm one of those people who doesn't like being cold, so I don't mind not having air conditioning. I just want the air to move so it's not sweaty and stifling. This fan (not fan - air circulator) does exactly that, to the point that I woke up COLD in a room that reaches 27°C normally. (Okay, yes, cold to me is probably just "nice and cool/comfotable" to most, but you get the point ;) ) I LOVE IT. The way it throws the air around the room, creating a breeze - and with a ten year warranty it was definitely worth the price tag. This is an investment, not a $20 one-summer fan. I'm so impressed, i'll probably endd up getting one of the Vornado space heaters for winter!

Superior indoor ventilation. Positioning this fan as recommended really works. You get air movement throughout the room but no localized blast. This is much more comfortable for sleeping, for example, than fans which blow on you directly, or wave a column of wind from side to side.It gets noisy at high speed. This problem is solved by getting one that is not too small, and running it at lower speed. Optimal noise, and breeze, is reached with the model I bought, which boasts continuously variable speed. This optimization comes at a price, however. Much as I like this fan, I have to call it expensive. If you had a variac ( a variable AC transformer ) sitting around doing nothing, maybe you could use it on a fixed-speed model and get finer speed adjustment.

Well thought out, very poorly executed.Was surprised that at fan vibrates at low RPM; presumably due to some imbalance on rotating fan.Within a year, fan is the noisiest part of a room making clicking clacking noises at anything g under half rpm; again presumably due to the badly balanced fan mentioned above which was also the reason for it shaking when running at lower rpm. What a disappointment. Was hoping for so much more from a fan at this price.
