Joshua: All God's Good Promises (Living Word Bible Studies)

This is the second study I'm doing by Kathleen Buswell Nielson. I'm very pleased with this purchase and feel the study is rich and rewarding. I am going through it slowly and methodically in preparation to lead a group of ladies in this study in the near future. It is the kind of a study that is rewarding and will be only as rewarding as one desires to dig into the Word.This is the kind of a study a serious group of students of the Bible will appreciate. If you are a leader and wish to disciple a group of believers, this is the kind of study you would appreciate. It is not a 'book review' type study. No, you have to use your Bible, cross references and sometimes, even the additional use of Bible helps and commentaries.As mentioned before, this is the second study by this author that I have done. In my last study, Proverbs, I introduced this type of Bible study to a group of ladies who were not at all used to this method of studying. There were many comments, once they began, which I expected. They, at first, found it difficult. I just encouraged them along. By the time we'd finished our study, there was nothing but praise for this method of study and they were ready to begin another, which we will be doing within the month. I look forward to seeing God work in the lives of those that God has privileged me to guide through this study.

This was ordered in multiple copies for our Women's Bible Study at our church. We chose this Living Word series because of the success we had with I and II Thessalonians study put together by the same author. The Joshua study is beginning to shape up with the same interest. The author makes it a study of history as well as how it directly affects us today and offers opportunity to compare ourselves with those of Joshua's time. We aren't much different than people in biblical times. We may not be called upon to battle for the Promised Land but we all have our struggles. We have a large spectrum of ages in our study group from those new to bible study as well as the saints who have been at it all their lives. This series appeals to all. It's much more than a "filling in the blanks" study, it requires some personal observations and applications. We are loving it!

One of my favorite Nielson studies. Thought provoking and deep without getting too overwhelming. Great for group or individual.

This was a very helpful tool for studying the book of Joshua. Kathleen keeps you grounded in the word. Have already started her study of Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs.

I've been more than satisfied with this book for our Ladies Bible Study.We've used books by this author before and enjoyed them too. This bookhas some questions that we, as a mixed group of Bible College graduatesas well as just housewives, have to dig to find the answers, but we do!If you want an in-depth study to help explain the Book of Joshua, thisone is it.

Excellent questions guiding you through Joshua. Helpful cross-reference work. Thorough study without crowded pages. Liked that application questions were included.
