A honest / branded product (versus imitation Cynova ones)
If you are shopping for this specific adapter; you already know that the market (including Amazon) is flooded with fake versions of Cynova branded adapters. DJI web site says that; Cynova adapter is built for Osmo - but not necessarily licensed. You can also find web site of cy-nova (a very poor web site which you can't even find that adapter there!). No info on Cynova web site about having an exclusive license for adapter, which costs more than twice of what you'd pay for this JJC branded one. Then (if you start with that sloppy Cynova as authentic product); you only go down hill from there. Because when you search; you'll find all kind of imitation ones - with price ranging all over. If you check reviews (including Youtube videos); you'll see lots of problems (noisy audio, adapter not fitting/falling out, USB-C not charging thru adapter etc).Enter to JJC. They are a serious photography accessory manufacturer from Shenzen China (also hometown to both DJI and Cynova). Their adapter has a model name: AD-OA1 and properly identified on their decent web site. If you check my pics; this JJC adapter is a professionally packaged product. And unlike many average non-branded Chinese products (with only a paper sticker); this JJC adapter is proudly branded both on the product and all around on the packaging as well. How about the performance? It simply works perfect:-Mechanical fit is fine (it does not slide out as fake ones).-No added noise on the audio (tested with my Edutige ETM-001 microphone)-Camera charges fine through this adapter and USB-C. If you connect your Osmo to a Windows PC (thru this adapter); it's also recognized (so both data and charging works on USB-C port, thru this adapter).-Both microphone and USB-C port work at the same time.A general word of caution for charging your Osmo Action camera (apparently many people are not aware of this):USB-C port of your Osmo Action camera (I'm not even talking about this adapter here) does NOT support PD or QC protocols for charging. It only uses 5V fixed and does not negotiate higher voltages with the charger. How do I know that? One of my QC/PD capable wall chargers displays voltage and current drawn from it's both output ports (one QC and one PD). I connected my Osmo Action to both ports (with proper cables, of course). Osmo settles on default 5V at all times. It draws about 1A current. In general; a USB-C connector is only the physical side. A device can use USB-C connector :A) for regular USB data communication / slow charge and/orB) for receiving fast charge using QC protocolC) for receiving fast charge using PD protocol. So USB-C port on Osmo Action camera can only receive good-old 5V USB slow charging, as it doesn't have fast QC or PD capabilities. After all; it's just a small battery and Osmo did not invest in extra circuitry for fast charging which will both increase the cost and most importantly thermal buildup within that small camera body. But if you still want to charge your battery fast; you'll need to remove it and charge inside an QC capable external battery charger.Bottom line : if you need that mic adapter; only buy this JJC one. Paying more than twice to a supposedly authentic Cynova (even if you are sure you found one) won't add anything extra. This one perfectly works and is the most economical option (also happens to be the ONLY branded product).

A good buy. Works as expected.
This adapter works as expected, and the price is right.Note that the Osmo Action only has a mono audio track. If you plug a stereo mic into the port, it will be combined into a mono signal. This adapter will not fit with the OSMO Action port door attached. The door must be removed. If you are not familiar with how to do that, there are numerous videos online that show how to remove and reattach the door. It's easy once you see how it's done. Just ensure that you put the door somewhere safe, as it is small, very light weight, and will be easy to lose. Once the door is removed, if you need to use the cage that came with the OSMO Action, the adapter fits well and the cage does not obstruct the adapter's insertion or usage.I only tested this with one microphone. I used a lapel mic attached to a wireless body pack transmitter, and then plugged the wireless receiver into the 3.5 mm jack on the adapter using a 3.5mm TRS cable from the wireless receiver output. I spoke into the lapel mic as it is typically used, reading a paragraph from a book. The playback audio was clear, free of noise, and sounded full. The full sound of course will depend on the type and quality of microphone you use, and how far away it is from the sound it's trying to pick up. The further away the sound source, the more room or ambient sound will be recorded along with the source sound, which will make the overall sound more tinny and thin. Also note, as has been mentioned in reviews of this kind of adapter, that the USB charging pass-through only works if you supply power using a USB-A to USB-C cable. Using a USB-C to USB-C cable does not supply pass-thorough charging power.I would believe that this adapter will work with most microphones that have a TRS or TS 3.5 mm microphone jack that either can run from the limited power provided by the input jack, or that use their own internal battery for a power source. If you have a 3.5 mm TRRS mic jack, you may need to get a TRRS to TRS adapter, or short pigtail adapter to make it work. I am unsure as I don't have a TRRS mic to test it.To ensure that this or similar adapters work properly, you need to have a current OSMO Action firmware installed. This is easy to do and mostly automatic via the DJI Mimo app. If you have an older OSMO Aaction and have not updated the firmware, there is a chance that this adapter will not work until you update the camera firmware.Since I just received this today, I do not know what the longevity of this device will be. If it quits working or starts having issues, I'll update this reivew.

Works good! Well made product
So far so good for some reason I can only use the Coiled Cable that came with my mic but that's not a big deal. I initially left a bad review but once I discovered it wasn't on the adapter I changed it

Works and Fits Perfectly
I bough this after a while researching and trying different adapters, and this was the one that finally worked! Now I can connect any lavalier mic or any wireless mic like the DJI Mic 2 or DJI Mic Mini using the the RX.Totally recommended.

Allowed audio but not charging
I could hear the audio after plugging in a lav mic but I couldn't charge through the unit. I tried multiple cords and chargers. Charging worked fine when I removed the plug. If there is more than 3 cents worth of plastic and wiring in this thing I'd be amazed but it still didn't work. The lav mic was also WAY too hot when using with the Osmo Action which is apparently an insurmountable problem for DJI to fix so this thing is going back and I'll have to record audio on an external recorder.

It works and fits snug in original stock frame
I purchased this for my old osmo action cam version 1. It did not fit in the aluminum Smallrig frame that I purchased long ago but it fit perfectly in the stock frame. Its possible that later models of smallrig frames may work. I was able to attach my light to the stock case using a cell phone clamp type attachment and the light has cold shoe slots that allowed me to add a rode video micro II. The JJC adapter fit snug into the camera inside the stock frame. Exactly what I needed. I have not tested the charging function yet.
