View video. Be your own judge
Please view video and be your own judge. To me, it Does not clean as good as others. Honestly I wouldโve got this less expensive from another brand. The battery life is good for a 900 sq ft home that is very tidy. It does make noise but nothing like itโs older versions. It does not pick up as good as other less expensive brands. You are also limited to only buying their product for the mop water. Other brands or robot mop additives will void the warranty. It also seems to lose its charging dock station that never gets moved and will stop and ask you to put in its dock because it is lost. So the map on the app also has an issue. Iโll try uploading video as soon as possible. For now, Amazon isnโt letting me post this with video

Loud, great suction, easy app
Cleans better when you choose vacuum then mop, but in a pinch and need the help itโs amazing! Great suction. Great mop pad cleaning. Very loud when running so better to do while not home. App is easy and creating a map is wonderful for your specific needs.

Great upgrade from our old roomba!
So, I was REALLY apprehensive buying this because of the poor reviews I had read. But man am I glad I decided to anyways! This unit replaced my 4+ year old roomba 600 series....which would CONSTANTLY get stuck, and could never get up over my large living room rug (and constantly got lost in it) and got stuck on every other rug in my house. This robot is AWESOME. it is so insanely smart. I hooked it to my Google home and I honestly have not pushed a single button on the actual unit itself yet (except to hook it all up to the app). It literally cleans in lines, goes over the entire house, and then goes around all the edges. I tell google to send it home, and it stops what it's doing, and drives itself home. In one motion....whereas my other would continue cleaning and maybe end up at home 10 minutes later. ๐ (If it didn't try cleaning its home base and end up dragging it halfway across the room) I love the carpet detect feature. You can TELL that the robot is on the carpet because the suction gets much louder, and it stops once it's back on the hardwood. This unit cannot get up on my big rug, but my other didn't and I'm okay with that. The fact that it DOESNT get stuck underneath my cabinets, and on my rugs, is a GAMECHANGER. I may actually be able to run with while I'm not home, and not worry about it getting stuck somewhere. I can tell it to clean, go in another room to watch tv, and not have to get up every five minutes to get it unstuck. As for the cleaning aspect, it does exactly what my other did. I don't see where the suction on it makes that big of a difference. (My other had no suction and cleaned my hardwoods beautifully) it picks up all the dog hair, crumbs, dirt, just fine. The waste bin is designed different. And much harder to clean out. But that doesn't bother me much. ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐คทโโ๏ธ We have only had it a week, but so far my husband and I are tickled with it. I'll update if that changes.

As compared to the 960 model - wow
I've had many robot vacuums in my lifetime-- including several Irobot Roomba and several other brands. I recently went through some upcycling of my fleet, giving some way, buying some new and realizing that in the used / open box / refurb market there are AMAZING deals to be found. I started with the 692-- basically the same as my old model with a new face, no carry handle, then on to the 960 and 981. In all of the different models the 981 was tops on a couple points that are very interesting if you are comparing the 960 to the 981-- I was able to get the 692, 960 and 981 all for the same open box price-- and a huge difference in features & functions between the three-- so here I am to tell you like for like dollars, the 981 is the clear winner with a few points to be aware of. The 981 is superior to the 960 in the following ways: -Multi power operation: it can automatically run hi/low automatically based on dirt level or surface being run on -- I'm not sure-- it runs on high on carpet and low on wood-- most of the time it's low on wood or hard surfaces -Higher capacity battery - due to the dual speed operation it can have a shorter max run time on the low end but a higher run time on the high end depending on how much low/high running it does -Seems to have a dual exhaust dirt bin while my 960's have a single exhaust bin. I have still had a very difficult time substantiating this difference and trying to find replacement parts to more deeply understand this difference -It definitely cleans more deeply than any robot vacuum I've had in the past-- the carpet ends up standing straight up like it does from a traditional vacuum cleaner and after many years and robots this is a first! Surprising difference between the 960 and 980 series! Logic-wise, and as expected, the operational mode of this unit is essentially the same as the 960-- neat rows, less banging around against objects and devices as compared to past models. I won't go into more as my goal here was really to compare the 960 and 981 and the value that is to be had in the used/ warehouse / refurb market on this particular model-- coming in at the identical price between 981, 960 and 692 models which was shocking. I'm not here to argue any comparison to the i7 which I keep my eye on as well and in the warehouse / refurb / used market is never anywhere near the value that this model has been. While I'm here, also to remark every used / warehouse / refurb model I have ordered has been pristine condition with not any indication of use in any way. This model is the keeper after proceeding through several others discovering that better models were the same price. One negative thing about the dual speed dual strength vacuuming feature: The feature is great, but it makes a difference continually in the sound that you hear in the home as cleaning happens-- so in some ways what you gain from the feature you lose in disruption or varying sound / pollution for those who are more sensitive to the sound of HIGH/LOW/HIGH/LOW many many times per minute throughout the cleaning cycle, especially if you have hard floors with various rugs that cause it to continually speed up and slow down, etc.

Keep my house clean
Iโve been using this robot vacuum for a while now, and it honestly feels like having an extra pair of hands around the house. The vacuum and mop combo works really well, and I love that the dock handles emptying and even washing the mop pads, which saves me so much time. It keeps my floors consistently clean with very little effort from me.

Give your toddler a mop instead, you'll get farther
Constant technical difficulties. It will loose connection during a run and go back to the base, it constantly "forgets" programmed routes or ignores them completely, or even better, completely ignore the app commands AND physical button commands. For every five times I run this thing, it operates once without issues. It's not any quieter than our much older (6+ yrs) model, and the stupid voice prompts/notifications can't be turned off (that we can find). It takes forever to charge, and the sensor that determines the bags are full is woefully inaccurate. We have turned it off/on, reset it, reset/reinstalled the app, reset all of our internet/wifi, etc. It hasn't worked correctly since it came out of the box and I'm kicking myself we didn't return it. I couldn't give it to someone without feeling bad. On the PLUS side, when it does work, it does a great job. We have several indoor pets and the mopping feature helps with paw prints during the rainy season and the vacuum does fine on cat hair. However, for the price, I do not want a robot that works 20% of the time. I feel like I've given a toddler a mop and expected them to get something done. The OG Roomba we have is still hanging in there and outperforming it's much more expensive, newer sibling by miles. I would not repurchase and I do not think it has the value it's priced at.

SPECTACULAR FOR CLEANING THE FLOORS!!!
The G135 combo is SPECTACULAR. I love how she runs. She is powerful. It talks out loud to tell you what itโs going to do like โreturning to dock to chargeโ or โstarting cleaningโ etc I have the app on my phone to tell the robot what to do. It made a map of my entire apartment. It knows the difference between carpet and hard floor for the purpose of mopping or vacuuming or both. The battery life is quite long as well, usually lasting about 2.5 hours to deep clean all my rooms, and still returning to the dock with around 72% charge left. It rarely gets stuck and usually finds its way out of tricky areas, but if it canโt; sends a message to my phone via the iRobot app saying โroomba needs some helpโ which I find adorable. My roomba, I named Machina, (because the app actually prompts you to give it a name during the registration process) usually only gets stuck if I leave clothes or charging cords on the floor. The value for the price is outstanding as well! I really enjoy the self emptying features and how it changes its own water, and lets me know when the tank or vacuum bag is getting full! I would ๐ฏ recommend the iRobot Roomba Plus 405 G135!!! Outstanding job on this one!! Saves me a LOT of time and energy doing all the floor stuff for me!!

Works after exchange. Price is high for a machine that does not fuction as it states. Slow Excahnge.
The unit we had received the first time had to be sent back from where it was malfunctioning out of the box. It took over three weeks for Amazon and iRobot to exchange the unit. We then received the 2nd one, and it worked well and programmed well out of the box. The only issue we have is that the schedule software in the app does not work at all for setting up an auto schedule, as it says it will do as a selling feature of the unit. You have to tell the iRobot Roomba to go sweep or mop each time you want the machine to perform its duty. Other than those two issues, the Roomba sweeps well, mops well, and most certainly knows where steps are located, staying away from them. It also knows the difference between carpeted areas and bare floor areas quite well, to our surprise. The only issue was the return forever taking place on the first one and the no scheduling of duty works on the phone app for Roomba. The scheduling was a feature we would have appreciated but not worth the effort to talk to their support, as the speaking of English is very limited, which is very frustrating, so to go around that, we just remember to tell Roomba when to mop and sweep. All other functions work very well, and the app is nice too. It performs well, emptying its sweeper into the dock and drawing its water from the water/cleaner reservoir at the docking station. The app tells you all about Roomba's health and functions. The app even displays a map where Roomba has gone and is going in progress.

Totally worth it
I do regret not buying this before. And also not expending a little bit more to have a two in one (the one with a cloth). This is absolutely amazing. After 6 months we kind of need to buy a new filter, however all the parts are easy to clean. Whenever we go out, eu prepare the house (remove a couple things from the floor) and activate it by voice or if we forget through the app even when we're far from home. He heatmap shows where he went, if there was a missing spot. Two things that I would appreciate to have: selecting a previous map to indicate which place it is so later I would be able to say, clean the kitchen, and it would go only to the kitchen. At our entrance we gage a couple of hard mats to hold winter salt, snow and rocks, and It constantly keeps blocked there, like it understands that there is also something more to clean, even if it's perfect already. These are the only two down points. Other than that, we're really happy with it.

Si Funciona
Tenia mis dudas de las aspiradoras Robot, pero si funcionan. No son 100% independientes, pero ayudan para hacer un trabajo basico. Esta es un buen modelo

Good product. Most imporant instructions not provided, not even on internet. A walk in the dark!
Instructions are very poor. No information on the difference between "New job" or "Vaccum Everywhere". No guide on how to use them, not even on the internet, Youtube, etc. No information on how it learns your house plan. When does it save to house plan in the cloud? Does it save to plan when "push the bottom" start? Does it save "New job" start? Does it save ""Vaccum Everywhere start? Do you start from the dock for New task. Or, like I did move it to another room and click New task. You have to solve all these mysteries yourself. Of course, saving to the house plan is something only Roomba knows and for some reason is keeping to itself.

Love it but wait for it to go on sale
Love this vacuum. I have three girls with long hair. My iRobot is here to save the day and pick up all the hair on the floor.
