Great durability and utility. Nice variety of textures.
These are thinner than standard sponges that come in economy kits. The thin nature allows better touch and contact with the clay while controlling water release. They are rock-hard upon arrival and after non-use for a day or two, but quickly hydrate and soften. There are three levels of textures dependent on color and they each work well for their use and the shapes fit well in the hand. So far, they have proven durable during use over a few months. Hopefully, they last a long time, but I would buy again if they start to wear over time.

Best sponges for throwing pottery
Love the texture of these sponges. These are the best sponges for throwing pottery. They are very absorbent sponges especially the white one which is my favorite. I love the texture of the sponges. Do you have a blue one? That is more orange that is in between in the white is a very smooth sponge. This is must have two for any Potter.

Great variety Love
As usual mudtools uses color to distinguish differences in similar products. The blue is thinner, very flexable, with large pores resembling a kitchen sponge in texture. The orange is a bit more rigged/firmer, with less pores, and a tad thicker body. The white has a very smooth texture with no visible pores, same thickness as the orange, similar rigidity maybe a tiny bit firmer. I just threw with them for the first time and I love them. I would say the blue one doesnt seem as if it will have the longest life span but time will tell. They came completely flat, like spongy chips, which looks strange but pop right into shape as soon as you wet them.

Great sponges, leave out to dry when possible
Excellent sponges for ceramics. If you can let them dry fully before storing it might keep the colors from bleeding (when stacked slightly damp the blue/white/yellow transfers onto other sponges). Not an issue that affects use, all in all these are worth the spend.

Excellent Pottery Sponges
If you are a potter, you already know that Mudtools is an excellent brand. I actually use the white sponge in a dry state to lightly sand some of the raw edges off of my pottery pieces after the bisque firing.

Versatile, useful, pliable
I love how thin these are and how you can control their firmness based on how wet they are. Much thinner and easier to use than the those typical standard round small sponges for ceramics. This is easier to get into small spaces and manipulate.
