A bit loose
I used this on my dutch door and there was too much play. I had to rig up some shims from some plastic scrap and glue them in to eliminate the play. Other than that it's great.

A really fine quality latch. Worth the price for my application.
I used this for a medicine cabinet I was making for a client. Actually, this was the second latch I bought. The first was an $8 nickel-plated metal stamping that weighed about a millionth of an ounce. It failed to operate smoothly and looked and felt crummy. It went in the trash. This latch is heavy machined steel with nice chrome plating. I had to drill out the holes a little to get my chrome-plated screws (not furnished) to fit. The first latch would have cheapened the feel of the whole cabinet. But this latch accents the quality of the cabinet. Really nice. The only way to make it better would be to include screws.

Pricey, but solid and works well
A bit more than I wanted to spend on a latch, but we recently changed our house color scheme from polished brass to brushed nickel... and there were too many bad reviews of other latches. This one looks good, operates well and is SOLID.

Pricey, but you’ll be looking at them for a long time, so worth it.
These are cast, much higher quality than the stamped ones. Heavy for their size, nice level of finish.

NOT BRASS, as described. It's ZINC
I bought the German Bronze finish cabinet latch and it looked nice and works nicely. It also fully disassembles (my antique ones don't), BUT, I bought it to go with brass antique latches and because the latch was described as brass, I planned to reshape the knob to coordinate better with the others. After filing a bit, it was obvious I was not working with a brass knob; the metal is white (see pic). To be clear, brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and is a yellow metal. I then went to the Top Knobs website itself and find this latch is described as made of zinc alloy. It's a shame the seller doesn't see fit to represent its products accurately.

Love these!
These knobs look fantastic on my fireplace built ins and upper cabinets in my kitchen. Love that they break up the look of standard cabinet hardware! Instagram - @ourfarmhouseon40
