Great investment!
This has been a great bike for my 3.5 year old who has outgrown a seated trailer. He is tall for his age but is just a couple inches shy of being able to reach the pedals when they are down. He has figured out that he can just keep both feet on the pedals where he can reach and just cruise for now. I'm sure he will be able to help pedal in the next few months.I did a lot of research before deciding to go with this bike because it is so expensive compared to others out there. I ultimately decided to invest in the Burley because of the rack-style attachment. A lot of the information I found on the seat-post mounted styles was that the rider leaned too much, making them feel unsteady. Also, that the adult bike's seat post was likely to twist with the tension of the trailer bike. With the Burley my son feels steady.I went with the Kazoo rather than the Piccolo simply because we do not need multiple speeds. By the time my son will outgrow this bike, my daughter will be ready for it. I'm looking forward to lots of years of use ahead! As others have stated, we did have to use a hacksaw to mount the Moose Rack properly, but overall assembly was manageable.

Better than the Wee Ride
We initially purchased the Wee Ride because it is so much cheaper, but I felt pretty nervous using the Wee Ride due to its poor handling and wobbliness. Plus the seat post on my bike kept getting twisted by torque when backing the Wee Ride out of our shed. The Burley is much easier to maneuver and a much smoother ride overall. It's easier to start up riding (say when at a stop sign and attempting to cross an intersection), it's easier to turn, and it's easier to back up. Since we are using it every day to drop off and pick my son up from school on somewhat busy streets the higher price of this trailer is worth it for us.

Amazing, Fun, Comfortable, Safe and Easy-to-use Trailercycle
I very rarely review products, but I have been enjoying this one so much for the past two months with my 4-year-old, that I wish to share it with others.I am a rather short woman, and the trailers that connect under the seat post could not fit my bike at its seat hight. Burley's Piccolo, which connects via a rear rack, does not have that problem.I found it hard to connect the rack myself, so I had it done by the local bike dealer (which added about $25 to the cost. I did not mind, as I got the trailer at an amazing discount on Amazon).Once we adjusted the trailer's seat and handlebar hight correctly, my 4-year-old, who used a 12" bike with training wheels up to that point, found it sturdy and comfortable. She loves riding with me whenever possible. With its revolving hitch, the combined bike is sturdy, very easy to maneuver even on narrow paths and around corners, and I hardly feel the extra load. With its 7 speeds, even a young trailer-rider can contribute a lot of riding power, so that we can make it even up steep hills. In addition, it is very easy to attach and detach the trailer (it takes just a few seconds).I also appreciated it coming with a flag, which connects easily, stays in place while riding and can be disassembled compactly.PROSConnects to the back and not to the seat post.Comfortable and adjustable.Sturdy and easy to maneuver. It does not feel much different than riding alone. The trailer-rider takes part of the cycling load, with 7 speeds.Easy to attach and detach. The flag works well and can be disassembled into two short rods.CONKnowing nothing about bike-assembly, I found it hard to connect the rear rack myself, and found the directions to be very minimal (more suitable for experts). It was an easy job for a bike mechanic, though. After two months of use, I am absolutely raving about the product.I highly recommend this addition to your bike and your lifestyle. Enjoy!

Rockin' the Piccolo!
This was a simple decision that I took to almost an engineering analysis, but when my four year old son is in the balance, I don't think my time was wasted. This is a resounding, "no brainer" to purchase.I have experience with Burley as a product. We own a Burley D-Lite child trailer, which when combined with an iBert, allowed me to tote three children (two in the Burley), a dog and three bags of groceries. There is nothing as well-designed and as durable as the Burley. So, the reputation had me.My first experience with a tagalong was during a trip to Monterey. We needed a tagalong and rented a bike with a Burley Kazoo (which is the single-gear version). We cycled the entire 17-mile loop around Pebble Beach. My son was comfortable and my wife (riding wing) attested to the smile on his face during the lengthy ride. I was sold on the concept, but wanted to conduct more research on the product even though we had a tremendous product honeymoon.Initially, I wanted a tagalong that would fit my Brompton S-Type, but quite simply, I couldn't make any tagalong brand work without interfering with the Brompton's fold. So, I stuck with my 20 year-old Diamond Back Mountain Bike, which I've kitted for street riding and was already using as a kid-toter.Flexibility -- I tested other brands, but there was nothing as solid, stable and as flexible as the Burley. I opted for the Piccolo vs. the Kazoo simply for the growth potential. My son is "just" tall enough to pedal, so gears aren't really an issue....yet. The Piccolo offers gears, and as my son's confidence grows, he will inevitably want to learn about the gears (and help his aging dad) while pedaling. When he's tall enough, Burley also has a brilliantly designed front-wheel adapter that creates a creates a full bicycle.Stability -- if nothing else, this was the main reason. Yes, the Burley requires a rear rack on the tow cycle, which is why I couldn't use an old road cycle (no rear dropouts for a rack), but this rack system creates superior stability. Other tagalongs connect to the seat post and can effect an excessive amount of lean for a small child. This becomes important on varying terrain. Obviously, it's the responsibility of the lead cyclist to consider the precious cargo, but I personally felt more confident with the Burley design.Rugged -- we've taken our Piccolo through sand, gravel, light trails, and of course, roads. My son rides through them all. The connection points from the Piccolo to the tow bike are solid and there's a secondary latching system "just in case".This is simply one, well-designed piece of kit from a well established firm. I invested many hours doing the research to only confirm what I knew in minutes. We love it and highly recommend it.

Superb trailer bike - worth every $$$
The Piccolo is a brilliant and lovely device. I've been pulling my son behind me in a Chariot since he was barely big enough to sit up in it, and now he's four he's just too heavy to pull up the hill. This trailerbike is pricey, for sure, but its mounting system is - much like the Chariot - both simple and secure. Where most trailerbikes affix to the seatpost, causing all sorts of horrible bendy torque to affect the adult rider, the 'fifth wheel' setup on the Piccolo articulates without pushing you all over the place. The Moose rack attached to my Spot Acme (carbon belt drive, disk brakes) with only a little bit of 'encouragement', and the trailerbike went together without major problems - about an hour's work in total. My son was s***-scared of it to start with, but I eventually bribed him into riding it by telling him it was the only way to get to Toys R Us. Now we both love it, and ride it all the time, even in subzero temperatures. He can talk to me much more easily than the Chariot, and he enjoys assisting with our forward motion. In due course, he can learn to use gears, too, though for now the lever is too stiff for his little thumbs. I predict we'll be using the Piccolo until he's just too tall to ride it any more.

So much fun!
So exciting for my 3.5 year old (he can reach the pedals but not actually turn the cranks)! We can all keep up with my 6 year old now on longer rides.Great quality and so much safer than the seat attached bike trailer. Also so easy to take on and off.It came missing a couple of bolts and burley customer service was super helpful and sent replacements right away.

No wobble!
I bought this as my 4yo kid started to ask for more rides. Our previous trailer bike was wobbly, unsafe above 20km/h.This one is just very firm, the attach and rack are a wonder. No wobble, no problems. I did go downhill a little fast, and this is the most stable experience you can get.We now ride 12km per day together on the commute.

Love!
We love this tandem bike. It installed easily on my electric bike. Very easy to setup and detach. There are no issues with wobbling or side leaning as with other cheaper models. I would buy again!

Easy to install and use. I love how easy it is to attach and detach. It is sturdy and well built but not too heavy.
