Well Made
I bought this for some gable vents that I purchased. The vents came with window screen already installed, but I felt like it would clog up a lot easier. I got this because the mesh was large enough to keep our bees and wasps, but yet allow air to flow more freely(as Iโm installing an attic fan). I also like the galvanized aspect because it will be exposed to the elements to some degree, and will be sturdy enough to brush clean if needed. Plus I can use the left overs for another project.

Sturdy and stiff
I used this hardware cloth to make a prototype for a larger proposal. I don't think I got the gig but I did get to play with this super easy to use material. It can be "stitched/stapled" together with bit of wire, gets exponentially stronger with just 2 layers, is easy to cut and does not fray. I ordered 2 rolls and used a tiny fraction of one to make this 3' bird. Fun stuff! Would also work well in a garden, on the lower edge of a chicken yard, very versatile hardware cloth.

Decent Quality Hardware Cloth
The big box local home improvement stores don't stock 1/8 hardware cloth so I had to turn to the web unless I want to wait for slow shipping for the same price. I used this to cover attic vents around the perimeter of our roof where birds had broken the internal screens. These work well when stapled in place, and starlings trying their best for days have failed to get through them. I've removed one star because the grids are wavy and not square so you can't just easily cut along a straight line to get a rectangle or square and just use the rows and columns as a frame of reference, and this makes it harder to cut as easily with tin snips versus just cutting through perpendicular wires.

Perfect for Making Bee Hive Components
Itโs hard to find #8 hardware cloth at local stores but this is exactly what I needed! The price is reasonable and quality is perfect for my needs. I used this to make screened bottom boards and moisture quilts for my honeybee hives. I used metal shears to cut it and it was fairly easy. I just traced a line on the mesh using markers and it worked great!

Worked well for our project
We have a very old house so the heat vents are large and have big designs in the front. We somehow got a bat in the basement, which then came into the main floor of the house through the vent. The next day I ordered this and some double sided heavy duty tape and covered all the vent covers. It still allows for the heat to come through and the holes are small enough that a bat (or mouse if we get any) can not come through!

Quality hardware cloth
This mesh is the perfect size to screen the sawdust from my heating pellets. It's arrives well packed and intact, and cuts easily with a heavy set of kitchen shears.
