Bought this to trace existing phone and Ethernet cables in my home. It does what it is supposed to do. Was able to track down a cable in an attic with blown-in insulation. You get a lot of feedback from power lines, but that's kind of expected. Haven't used the cable tester functions yet. If you need to use this on a daily basis, spend more money. If you just need to track down some random cables, this will do it.

Now dont get me wrong it is not a bad little tester for some DIY work and if your first getting started in the trades you will find that the want/need to upgrade will come fast with this one just keep this in mind

Worked just like it promised

This product arrived not functioning as it should, I contacted the supplier and amazon and after a few emails nothing happened and I'm left with a paperweight now, thanks and don't waste your money

Documentation is lacking, but the top itself works great. I've already dropped it on concrete a few times and it still works, so it's well constructed.

I needed an inexpensive cable toner to figure out why a network socket was not active at a client site. This unit was a good price point, and it works as needed to get the job done - tone generator in the office dead socket, then lets you figure out what jack-socket (unlabelled of course) in which patch panel in which closet is providing service to that office-socket. Toner works perfectly for this. Overall build quality is not what I would describe as 'the absolute best and most solid I have ever seen' but it is 100% functional and perfectly decent. Basic plastic case build, switches work fine, it works great and really is outstanding value given the feature:cost point.

Works great especially for the price. I was even able to diagnose a broken wire in a connection and repair it

Côté utilité du produit, parfait, il fonctionne très bien, je l’ai utilisé pour trouver des câbles réseau en usine et cela a très bien fonctionné. Seul côté négatif du produit c’est qu’il semble fragile, case en plastique vraiment cheap mais pour le prix je mis en attendais!!! Mais si vous faite attention de ne pas l’échapper, il va fonctionner longtemps

Worked for a few minutes and then quit permanently. Build quality just isn't there, would not recommend.

The item arrived with one button lose, poor quality control in my opinion. it feels cheap which is why it is low cost, parts of it did work, if the button was not missing I feel all of it would have worked. but how long would it last is another question. I will return it due to the product button falling off and purchase a better quality item.
