Use this to heat CPAP hose
I did not buy this item for it's intended use. I bought it to heat the hose of my CPAP machine. I keep my bedroom quite cool (59 degrees) at night. My CPAP machine has a heated humidifier. As the warm humidified air passes through the 6 foot long hose, the temperature difference between the warm hose and the cool room causes condensation. This condensation collects in the mask on my face an causes a phenomenon called "rain out". A mask full of water prevents sleep. I tried the suggested remedies such as putting the CPAP machine on the floor. I also bought a microfiber cover for my hose. I still had rain out. The only other remedy is a very expensive commercial heated hose. The Zoo Med Reptile Cable solved my problem for an extremely reasonable price. The 11.5 length is perfect because the last 6 feet of the cable is not heated. The first 5.5 feet is secured at the top of my hose with a rubber band. I still use the hose cover over the cable and hose to retain the heat. The heat is very mild, less then an electric blanket or heating pad. But it's just enough to prevent rain out. 15 watts is perfectly safe for this use. The cable adds a very minimal weight to the hose. Problem solved!

Functions well and heats up perfectly and quickly
I purchased this heat cable for a level of my leopard gecko rack. I plugged it in and it immediately started to heat up, I can hold the cable in my hand without it burning really. I use Iris large size clear plastic shoe containers with the predrilled ventilation holes and front opening door. The bottom of the boxes have about a 3/4 inch lift from the cable itself and the heat still penetrates through nicely. It keeps temperatures in the tubs constant and correct. I highly recommend this heat cable for leopard geckos and other types of animals that require bottom heating. You could also mount it to the back of the tank for the type of heating as well using electrical tape. All in all this product is functioning well so far and I am very pleased and will purchase for the rest of my rack!

Works well, with thermostat or light dimmer.
Either use a thermostat or light dimmer. If dimmer is used, check temp with laser temp gun...

great economical heat rope
I've been using this 12hrs a day for about 6 months and it's still working. For me the long lead in cord isn't good because I wanted to hook it up around some branches near my plug but I had too much unusable rope. Oh well, it would be good if you need to plug it in outside the cage and run it in but I have a plug right up by the top of the tree where I wanted to use it and where my lizard spends most of it's time. For 15watts it puts out a pretty good amount of heat and doesn't cost much to run. Nice heavy cardboard box too :-)

Perfect for my needs!
I wasn't sure about this because of the other reviews.I am very satisfied though! I got this cable to help keep my ant warm, I also have a small temperature gauge by the cable so I can keep an eye on the temperature. The cable keeps the area between 75 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.Only about the last 3" feet of the cable is actually heated. which I thought was going to be too much for my needs, but actually works just fine!

ZOO MED REPTILE HEAT CABLE, 11 1/2 ft, 15 watt
WARNING: KEEP BOX, ALL PACKAGING, AND WARRANTY INFO DUE TO FAULTY CABLE THAT MAY NEED TO GO BACK. Purchased this 11 1/2 ft, 15 watt, reptile heat cable in March of 2018; dead end of June. Seemed to notice it may not be heating over last couple of weeks. Unplugged it and tried in another outlet and realized that cable is definitely not working. Not sure when it actually stopped working. Pretty bad quality after max of only 3 months use. Didn't see any other complaints when I purchased so I don't know if this is a single issue or not. Regardless, I am returning to company under their warranty, and will have to wait 4-6 weeks for them to make this right. The warranty states they will repair or replace. Honestly, who wants a company to "repair" a non-working heating cable? I don't. If their cable isn't working after 3 months, I don't want to risk burning my house down if they try to "fix" a faulty cable. That's kind of BS. Clearly, I want it replaced, but I will update this post once I get their decision. SUCKS that I have to wait TWO MONTHS for them to repair/replace an obviously defective heat cable after only 3 months of purchase. It should be immediate, but, it's not my company. Watch for my update.

Keeping my retile warm
Keeping my reptile warm: This heat cable provides lots of heat and is wrapped around a branch with no problem of catching fire as far as I can see after a month. I worry that it may be too hot to be comfortable in actual contact with my critter, but he has gone across it many times with no ill effects, and he does not choose to lay on it, just near it.

Requiere mejores especificaciones

Recomendable.
