great monitor setup but a bit pricey
this is going to start sounding like im in love with amcrest.. AND I AM !!!!yet again they knock it out the park with this baby monitor. the first thing i always do is set things up without reading instructions and then go back and read them if needed. many people do this and it goes to show how user friendly a product is. plug the camera in, plug the monitor in and switch things on. thats it. done. simple ! in 15 seconds the screen fires up and you're watching your grinning face on the screen. i unplugged the camera, put it in the kids bedroom and plugged it back in, keeping wires out the way and that was it. went back downstairs and the screen had picked the camera up again and i was looking at the feed. crystal clear (within the limitations of the sensor and the lcd type) and audio coming through of the kids playing. moving the camera up/down/left/right was a little slow to move but i prefer that to a massive fight to position it without it jumping too many degrees around. id like it to have selectable night/day mode and not just be stuck on auto but hey ho, it works well. the ir leds light up the bedroom very well. picture quality and audio is good, no interference so id be happy to commit to saying its a digital transmission between the units and not analogue. after only one night using it i was committed to sticking with it. very happy with this kit. i do have a gripe and thats the cost. wow is it pricey to strar with. i noticed amcrest devices do start out a bit pricey and then drop down BUT at the moment on amazon theres much much cheaper options in this field. one monitor set up is currently £41 and that could be hurtful to amcrest sales. i will admit i have got this of the back of previous amcrest devices i have and yes, its a great bit of kit but the cost needs attention. i can not see what is there to justify the big cost, even being a rechargeable display shouldn't make it that costly. sorry to say it but it may hurt sales.

Great battery life, good feature set. Excellent VFM
Please note: Black boxes in attached pictures are for privacy reasons! You can see the menu structure on one picture, the night vision black and white image and the colour image. So Im a bit of a fan of Amcrest kit. It always seems to provide far more bang for its buck than it should! I have an Amcrest action cam that gets regular use on the dog, and a webcam that is used daily for WFH Zoom sessions. So, on to the Baby monitor. I bought this for my impending grandson, and tested it out before delivering it.Things to note:The battery life of the monitor unit is pretty exceptional. I had it running from 5PM through to 9AM the next morning, and the battery still had one bar left out of four. If you can get your little one to sleep this much, then hats off to you! The battery looks like its a fairly standard model as well, so replacement shouldn't be too much of hassle. The VOX function is really nice. The screen lights up when it detects noise. You can set the sensitivity of the function through the menu easily. The night vision system works really well. There is no distracting red light visible *at all* when it kicks in, which is pretty remarkable. The night vision Black and White picture is very crisp. The Pan and Tilt mechanism is very handy, and will be a complete boon for those with children that love moving around in their bed! You don't have to spend half an hour setting it up just so.Range of camera to receiver is pretty decent. Works throughout the whole of my 3 bedroom house without any issues. The only place it failed was in an outhouse, but the windows there have a metallised film, so that makes it a bit of faraday cage. There are a couple of other add ons... it will play a music box type tune if desired, although you can hear this through the receivers speaker... might be handy i suppose! And the digital zoom function, as with all digital zoom, isnt that great, but again, could come in handy. In conclusion:This works perfectly well for what its sold as and is very good value for money. Cant recommend it highly enough. Compared to previous baby monitors we have had, the feature set on this one is very nice and comes in at a very decent price point.

Works well and could not be simpler to set up
Upon taking the camera and monitor out the box and plugging them in, within a few seconds they are up and running. This could not be simpler to set up!The main feature I like is the VOX function and some cameras I have previously seen do not have this function. If you have VOX, then it means the monitor display and speaker will be off, but if audio is detected on the camera, the monitor immediately wakes up and starts transmitting audio. This function works well and there are different sensitivity levels. This function means that the monitor screen does not keep you awake at night as it remains off unless the baby makes a noise. It also means that if you play white noise sounds in the baby’s room then this noise will not constantly be transmitted to the monitor unless the baby makes a noise and at that point the audio is transmitted to the monitor.Something else which I really like is that the night vision infrared light is invisible to the human eye. I have heard friends say that their baby is disturbed by a small night vision light as it is visible on some cameras and can be quite bright in a pitch black room. This camera has absolutely no visible light (unless you turn on the night light which is a different feature). The pan and tilt function is very quick and smooth in operation. There is a small noise when it pans / tilts but it is quiet enough not to disturb anyone sleeping near the camera. You can also zoom with this camera which has one set zoom level. It also has a two-way audio function which works as intended and it is clear enough to understand what the person on each end is saying.I would happily buy this again if I ever needed another one.
