and I just wish their availability was better. A good alternative to a Cloudlifter type devices. That said, I'd advise buying a USB sound device with decent gain, especially if you are using a certain Shure mic that is famously gain hungry... yes, I'm looking at podcasters!

Using this with an SM7B, and it's resolved the issues with it's extremely low output for a fraction of the cost of a cloud lifter.

I originally purchased the cloud lifter to use with my SM7B. Mainly because it was what was recommended by friends of mine and in YouTube videos. I just stumbled across this in my Amazon recommended by pure accident. And immediately was sceptical considering the price.After doing a little bit of research on it, I realized that it actually does as good a job as the cloud lifter, which is more than five times the price.It actually provides more boost then the cloudlifter does! Of which all of the boost is nice and clean, just like the cloud lifter.You do not need to buy the cloud lifter, you will get just as good results with this instead and you'll save yourself a lot of money in the process.- Excellent build quality- Smaller size- Higher boost (cloudlifter is UPTO +25db, the CM-1 feels more like actual +25db)- Clean gainAfter testing it myself, I ended up selling my cloud lifter. Really pleased with the booster. I bought a Rode Podcast mic earlier this year, along with a UMC2002HD interface and found that I had to turn the gain all the way up to get a reasonable amount of input to the computer.Didn't really want to spend more money, but eventually saw this and decided to take the plunge. Got it, fitted it inline and wow! What a difference.The Gain is at around 50% and I am getting good (relatively) noise-free sound from the mic, allowing more latitude to make adjustments on the equaliser and making my voice sound so much better.Recommended.

I was wondering how this would perform, compared to a Cloudlifter which is considerably more expensive. I have to say that it works extremely well making my Shure SM58 really come alive with nice clean sound. Well worth the money and well made.
