Cut them in half and use them in the small filter housing
Keeps the grit out of your RO or ion exchange or carbon filter and if you have the small housing they work fine for those just by scoring with a utility knife and breaking in half. Ridiculousily cheap that way considering the capacity of the main filters that you preserve. Maybe I wasnt supposed to say that... You decide.
