Be prepared for battle with the shipping
First the rant. First three arrived broken in shipping. All were packaged exactly the same. 110lbs in a single wall box with styrofoam simply is not "shippable". They would all have arrived in good condition if they were shipped on a small pallet. Not being deterred, the fourth arrived with no visible damage. (Needless to say UPS was frustrated and involved a supervisor.). Where it sat waiting for the plumber to que his work load. Finally installed. Retracting wand assembly does not work. Kohler was called and promptly sent a new assembly as I now wait for the plumber again. Call me Pollyandish but I expect that once installed, it will work.If this sounds a little rough, the toilet works well in all other tested functions. I even feel like the current 3K price is fair. Maybe even a great deal. There has been no "electronic" issues and the remote works well.Through this I highly recommend the seller, Sandhills, as he kept sending these until we got an unbroken one. Without his service, I would likely have returned and done something else. Thank you. Also, none of this works without the outstanding warranty service from Kohler. Sound like tooo much trouble? No, happy to have and wouldn't have a clue as to where to come up with a replacement for this price. Get 'em while they are still available as this is a close out price from Kohler.

so far so good.
lots of negative reviews. to drop $3500 on something that does not work was a leap of faith, but so far, so good. only been using it for a week. they should update the look and feel of the remote. a little gameboy-ish. for $3500, that remote should look like a Apple TV remote.

Great design but mostly not working. The auto-flush function works erratically.Difficult to troubleshoot and service.

Complicated install, heavy toilet, great features
Edit: July 2024Toilet lid is hitting the wall again. I’m not sure why this happens. It’s rather annoying that the lid makes an angry noise and smacks against the wall. Kohler asked me if I leaned backwards against the lid the last time I talked to them— which I don’t. There is no obvious reason this is occurring. Because service was such a hassle last time I am going to try putting rubber bumpers on the lid so the wall doesn’t get damaged. I might replace this toilet if the noise is too annoying. Besides this weird issue, I like the toilet and it’s crazy that this is an issue with the replacement toilet they gave me. It’s not a me problem so it’s either installed too close to the wall or a Kohler issue.Edit: Aug 2022I can no longer recommend this toilet. I have lost track of the number of visits that the plumber has made to my house to repair it. In June it stopped flushing. I had to unplug the unit and then it would flush 4 times. Additionally, the toilet had a problem of not realizing that the lid was already open and then would try to open but hit the wall. SInce June, the plumber has been here 4 times with various new parts to fix this lid issue but to no avail. Because this is warranty work, I use the plumber that Kohler sends me and they are not able to come out without a wait of a few weeks. At this point I'm ready to take this toilet out and install a non-electric, traditional one. I like the toilet when it works but I've had so many issues with it that I can't remember when it did work correctly.---This top of the line toilet arrived well packed in heavy duty foam cushioning. It's too heavy for one person to move. In fact it's quite heavy for two people to move. It takes two people to unpack it.Before you install it you will need a GFCI outlet by where the toilet will be installed. My electrician had to run new wire down my wall. He charged me about $250 for this new electric outlet. My plumber charged me about $300 to install the toilet. It's a pricey installation on top of a pricey toilet. My plumber and his assistant struggled to move the toilet in my narrow toilet room. Because this toilet is so heavy, it can be a bit of a challenge to move around and get it aligned correctly because it requires two people and in a small space, it's hard for two people to fit. It took them about an hour from start to finish. They were fascinated with this high-tech toilet that has an automatic lid that hit the wall a few times but then learned where the wall was and now opens without banging into the wall. They mounted the remote control on the wall by the toilet paper roll holder. The remote has a switch to flush but also to set your defaults for if you want an automatic flush or not, how warm you'd like your seat or not, and also setting the bidet functions. Now that I've been using it a few days I like the night light in the bowl and the warmed toilet seat. It also has a commercial grade flush. As far as the bidet performance, I can't notice a difference between the front and back settings. The water seems like it's all the same general area. I've never used a bidet before so I don't have any experience to benchmark it against. It's probably not a feature that I will use very often.Overall I think this is a great toilet with neat features. With the automatic lid, auto flush, night light and seat warmer, I'm happy! It's a bit higher off the ground that my previous toilet so I think it's more comfortable for us older folks. I also like the shape of the toilet because of the form it's easier to clean.October 2020 update: The lid stopped sensing motion and wouldn't auto open. I had to call Kohler to have a plumber replace a part. The plumber fixed the sensor but the lid was hitting the wall behind the toilet. The plumber had to make another trip out with another part to fix that issue. This service was all covered under the warranty.

Love it!
I remodeled my entire house, but the bathroom is now by far my favorite room. Guests marvel at the beautiful toilet/bidet and can't wait to try it. I forgot to tell one friend how to turn off the bidet stream, but she figured it out so I didn't have to come in and rescue her, sparing us mutual embarrassment. My only concern is what I will do if the power goes out: this is my only toilet.

This toilet does it all
The media could not be loaded. First off installation: Though this unit is quite heavy, the base detaches for easier installation. There are a lot of hookups, but they all correspond to one another. Only the main water line is needed, as this unit heats up water, on its own. The base separates from the main portion of the toilet. The only thing that took a while was bolting the base down. Everything else was easy and no leaks on my first try.All the gizmos: Heated seat: Awesome, once you touch it, it will start warming up. Auto lift: This will open when approached and close a few minutes later. A bit annoying, but I believe this can be reprogrammed. The bidet: Water is perfect temperature and this can be adjusted. The water pressure could be a little stronger as well as the dryer mode. Love the light feature, for those late night restroom runs. The bonus here, is the unit doesn't need to be touched. So far so good. I have read reviews of issues and if anything goes bad, I will be back to update. Honestly this is an investment, but for a toilet, it is gorgeous!
