This is the photo printer we have been waiting for since digital cameras came out!!!!!!
Finally! This is the at home printer I have been looking for. For years I have printed my photos at home. I have bought printers upwards of $200 and have not achieved the results I have with this Canon Selphy printer.I have a DSLR which takes amazing photos; but I have been SO disappointed in the print quality of photos that I have either printed at home or ordered online. I have since been looking for an inkless printer that prints great photos. Finally, there is one. And not only that, the quality of the prints on this inkless printer rivals that of any other printer I've owned. And are even superior to prints I've ordered from Apple, Shutterfly, and Snapfish.Pros:-Amazing Quality 4x6 prints: Better than store printed prints, better than Shutterfly, Apple, Walgreens, these are the best.-Photo paper: The photo paper this prints on is glossy: but not too glossy. Smudge-free, waterproof, absolutely great. They are truly flat, which is perfect for scrapbooking and photo albums.-Phenomenal colors: The colors are great. I've never seen photos print where I was satisfied they matched the colors on my retina Mac screen: until I used this printer- EASY TO USE: within 5 minutes I had this printer on my home network and was able to air-print borderless photos wire free from both my computer and my phone. Amazing!-No calibration: No test pages, no print alignment, no nozzle cleaning cycles. Nothing!-Print Quality: Have I mentioned how great these photos look when they come out of the printer?-Paper + ink in one: When you purchase paper for this printer, it is bundled with the "ink" for that paper. It is the exact amount of ink you need for the paper. No more; no less. It is a great system and works wonderfully. It really makes you wonder why no one has come up with this sooner.Cons:These are all totally minor. These are nit-picky but for the sake of my review I nit-picked some.-Price per print: 108 sheets (with ink) is roughly $0.33 a sheet. This is higher than a standard photo print or a print you can order online; BUT it is worth it. These prints are superior than what you can get printed online or in the store.-Awkward paper tray: The tray sticks out and the cover is a bit weird. It is awkward on the first use but once you figure it out it is not a problem.-Expensive battery: I don't care about this because I don't have a use for a battery. Most likely you won't either.-4x6 is the largest this printer will printEdit 2/5/2016 - Occasionally a pice of dust will get stuck in the photos. It's extremely rare and barely noticeable, but it does happenIt only took me one print to realize how great this printer truly is. I have never once had a photo printer print a perfect photo on the first try. Until I tried this printer. Do yourself a favor. If you are considering this printer for purchase what are you waiting for. This is the printer we have been waiting for since digital cameras have come out. It is convenient to use and has phenomenal results and it is hassle free!

Really excellent for printing photos quickly with good results
I have always loved Canon Selphy photo printers. This CP1200 is great, in that it produces its own network to connect your phone to. This way, you can print pictures directly from your phone in seconds - very great idea.It has a small footprint with a nice LED screen that flips up and down. The instructions are very easy, and a starter pack of ink and pictures is included. Immediately you can connect a wifi device to it by finding the network, or you can manually connect almost any device to it. It even has an SD card slot if that's easiest. The pictures turn out very nice, with only a slight muted tone to them. You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between these and ones you get at Walgreens. Snapfish and other professional services do produce nicer quality pictures, but you'll never get them quickly. This is great for those times you need photos quickly. We use this in our veterinary clinic to print before and after pictures of pets' mouths, but it can also be for eager grandparents wanting baby pictures, or just about anyone that wants a printed photo quickly. Cost is about $0.24 each, which is comparable to other services.

About as good as you can get for the price point for dye-sublimation printer. Still cost/page is still high.
Bought this to use for a party as a fun activity. There aren't many dye-sublimation printers at the price point (physical size, speed, page size, etc) so your options are limited in this category. The setup as pretty easy and there are other reviews of this printer in terms of print qualities and performance. So far I've printed about 80-100 photos and it's still working.I chose this printer for the simple reason that inkjet are not good and sporadic printing in which you print many pages for a short period of time and store it for the next usage. While it sits around, the print head gets clogged up or dries up and you waste pages doing a nozzle "cleaning," calibration, maintenance, etc. Thus, you end up wasting valuable paper and ink. I don't believe the dye-sublimation technology has this issue. I'll use it at a party for fun pictures and store it for the next event.I'll give you my highlights:- Setup can be done via wi-fi or through "direct connect". The wifi option requires your device and the printer to be on the same access pint (i.e. wifi network). The direct connect option sets the printer as a access point and you will have to connect your device to it.- I set up this printer to connect to a ASUS tablet and a Samsung S4. They both worked in wifi and direct connect mode. However, the PictArt app I used had issues with the direct connect mode as it wanted to access the internet often. Therefore, it sometimes hung on me and I had to switch over to wifi mode. This is notable if you are taking this to a public place where wifi isn't that open or restrictive.- I found the transmission of the picture to the printer is slow. It took about 60-90 seconds to send the image to the printer BEFORE the printer started up. I am not certain how better the performance would be if it was connected to a USB cable. Once the printing started the speed is about stated on the specification.- The paper has to be from Canon from what I can tell. This is because each kit comes with the paper and print cartridge. I pad $30 for the 108 sheet kit, DP-108IN, which comes to 28 cents a sheet. There are no extra sheets that you can extend the cartridge with. I find this cost on the high side.- In this time of re usability and recycling, it irk me having to throw away the printer cartridge once it runs out. Obviously not enough annoyance to purchase it. You decide.- Subjectively, the print quality was slightly above-average, but for the price point I wasn't expecting photo-lab quality. The image seemed to tilt toward the blues.- The placement of the plug in the rear was not a poor design choice as the paper is feed from the front to the rear. You have to make sure that the power cable does not obstruct the feeding paper that is sent to the back as it move back-and-forth through the dye colors. The plug should've been located on the side. I did not purchase the battery.- The Canon print app is average. Not very intuitive user interface and you have to figure out on your own with little documentation or help. My suspicion is that Canon wanted to app to work across their line of printers and thus gave us some functionality in the app for that. Maybe the PC/Mac driver is better.
