But once the sun goes down, even with a hot summer night, the cooling pad feels great. Even leaning my hand on it for a while, the pad still felt nice and cool. Kitty liked it. Not sure if the bottom is waterproof as advertised. This was the better of the two mats I bought. I was bigger too. But I kept them both for different spots. On the downside, the delivery was significantly slower on this pad versus the other one I bought, which came 2 days Prime.
