Great novel
I read these books 30 years ago and out of the blue middle son decided that he wanted to read them. He is loving the books.Not much I can write as a review from a nearly 50 year old book.

MASH goes to Maine
The first installment in the series after the original. Definitely worth a read for MASH fans (particularly fans of the movie.)

Got this as a gift for a friend who is in love with M.A.S.H! He was really excited about this book! Loved it!

Hard to find classic
Some people like this better than the original but I don't think it has quite the edge as the original and the stakes are definitely not has high as a wartime story. However, the humor that carried the original book is in full effect here and is worth checking out for any fun of the first novel

Don't overlook this one.
A great piece of writing - arguably even better than the original MASH filled with humor and very touching as well. All the MASH books published after this one were ghost written and generally not worth reading.

Very good for your own personal read.
Not all the characters from the first book/movie are not in the first eight chapters which is where I am at right now. Need to know a little bit about heart surgery to read some of the medical words to have fun reading.

Hard act to follow
It's a good sequel and in many ways a good book in its own right but the point of M*A*S*H according to Richard Hooker or Richard Hornberger was that if you put normal-minded people in a high pressure situation such as a war, they will do crazy things. I've never been to war but I can probably agree with this idea which is why M*A*S*H works so well and this sequel doesn't, although the antics do continue it doesn't capture the feeling or energy of the original.

In many respects, this is the best of the M*A*S*H books. IN this the boys Hawkeye et al return to the Maine for more medical hijinks.

A great sequel to the under-appreciated book MASH
A great sequel to the under-appreciated book MASH. I am a surgeon and can really relate to what they say, and marvel at what they did under those working conditions.

It was ok, but not as good as the original
If you enjoyed the original MASH novel, then definitely read this if only to find out what happens to Hawkeye, Trapper & Duke.
