Made an 850 mile round trip!!!
We needed to find a method of getting more storage capacity in a short amount of time. The car is a 2021 Mazda CX-5 (no roof rails). Was looking at all sorts of products and came across the Rightline ACE 2 product. After reading the reviews here and looking at their website, I decided to take a chance even so some reviews discussed problems with moisture leaking through straps and durability.I followed the instructions as recommended by other users as well as the manufacturer. I did not over pack and made sure to keep the shape of the bag. I used a protective, non-skid cover between the bag and the car.We put 2 beach chairs, 3 boogie boards, beach toy games, 3 small duffle bags, a twin size aero bed, and 6 beach towels to kind of keep everything tight. I put my duffle bags and aero bed in garbage bags in the event it rained. Everything else I did not mind getting wet.THE ONLY THING I DID DIFFERENTLY was where I mounted the clips. The clips did not fit on the outside of the weather stripping. Therefore, I put the clips under the weather stripping against the frame. We had a little wind noise. Not terrible. We had noise from the strap. However, a quick adjustment to make sure the strap was flat made a difference. My experience on my travel days had no rain so I cannot say how it would perform in rainy weather, but I was pleased with the product. I can see the ACE 2 bag is not as durable as the “better” models. I did see other Rightline Gear bags that were better. My bag held up with no problem. The items we put in the bag were more outdoor items. Traveled from the NY area to Outer Banks, NC. Definitely feel a difference in the handling of the car as well as gas mileage due to drag.Overall, I was pleased with the product.

2000km trip and the carrier stood the test.
Family summer road trip, we needed the extra space for some camping gear. The carrier held out well. I noticed the straps were slipping through the top of the bag when traveling @ 100km/hr. Took some adjusting and making sure the top end of the straps were tied in a knot before everything was stable. One recommendation for the carrier would be a long velcro piece at the front instead of two small ones. The pressure on the front of the bag lifted the front flap every time we were driving. All in all this carrier did the job, held out well and is in perfect shape for our next trip.

Corde trop courte
J'ai dû acheter des sangles supplémentaires pour attacher le porte bagage sur mon toit, mais le rapport qualité prix est bon.

Surprised
Did well. Could’ve been worse, could’ve been a bit better. For the price well worth getting several trips out of it

Good quality, held up nicely under pouring rain and on the highway at 100km/h
Bought this for my family camping trip this year as the trunk space was not enough to fit all the camping gear. This was a more economical option to a hard top carrier as I would only use it a few times per year.Pro- good price compared to a hard top carrier- it folds well and comes in a small box. Good for storage and doesn't take up a lot of space- good quality and the material feel durable- used it in the rain. Was skeptical at first with its waterproof ability so I place a tarp inside the carrier and also put my sleeping bags/tents in plastic bags. However, it stand quick well against the rain as the inside was completely dry. The water didn't get in through the zippers either.- I used the straps that came with the carrier to tie it to the roof rack rail on my SUV. The straps were quite strong and had no problem holding the carrier down even driving at 100km/h on the highway.Con - nothing really. The zipper can get a bit tricky to close around the corner.I highly recommend this carrier. I did use it with a anti-slip layer under it to prevent it from sliding on by cars roof.
