Great basic L-shape piece
Aside from the 38 day wait for FedEx to locate/communicate the whereabouts of box 1 of 2 (I had received box 2 of 2 only a week after initial order) once both boxes were here, I set to assembly. Follow the instructions and any supplemental assembly instrux, and you have it done in a few hours. I bought the Espresso Oak finish. I love the glass door, and I also bought the hutch which offers additional storage. Particle board can be crumbly if you are not very careful starting fasteners centered and straight. I will add some features of my own to make it even more enjoyable, like a roll-out tray where the open shelf is and perhaps some rope lighting on the hutchs' underside. All in all, pretty happy with Bush products thus far.

Good Hutch, Bad Manual
This hutch arrived intact, in order, and when they said it would arrive.Of the 62 nails that are used to attach the backboard, one was missing. This was not a problem since 61 nails were enough and the backboard remained perfectly secure. The construction appears solid after complete assembly, but it is made out of cheap particle board and errors during assembly are not within tolerance. The manual was vague in its instruction, the small print and illustrations proved difficult for me to read and understand. However, I managed to properly assemble the majority of it without error. If you have poor reading eyesight, I recommend a magnifying glass and lots of patience. A second pair of hands is also recommended. The door was a pain to install, and the manual's lack of direction led me to install it incorrectly. I ended up placing the door mount over the hinge. I should have stopped the moment I heard crackling coming from the particle board, but it was too late. All of the screws stripped out the material and I was forced to replace the screws entirely. After some trial and error, I discovered that the hinges were supposed to go over the mount instead of inside it. I re-fixed the mounts with butterfly bolts that went straight through the top of the hutch. It is now secure and working properly. The manual is at fault for not providing this important bit of information. Would recommend Bush Furniture to review and refine their manual to be more clear and detailed.5 star construction for what I need-1 star for manual and resulting damage causedLower half of the hutch provides 18 inches of vertical clearance for my computer monitor. I plan on pairing it up with my new desk tomorrow. Hopefully the measurements are compatible as advertized. Will recommend, caution during construction advised.

It looks nice but is not high quality
For the price, it's OK. It looks nice but is not high quality. It arrived in a VERY beat up box and some of the boards had cosmetic damage from the shipping (pieces scrubbing against each other and leaving discolored areas, with a few small nicks). I anticipated something like this after reading reviews here, and I was not really willing to make the calls and wait for replacement parts. It would sure be nice if it arrived in perfect condition, but it is HEAVY, and I'm sure the delivery guys aren't very careful with it. Also, the piece that covers the back is low quality. It is folded into 4 sections and the three seams between the sections don't look very good at all, and it is flimsy. But, the hutch is relatively inexpensive and does what I want it to do.If you're used to assembling IKEA furniture, this will be fairly straightforward to you. Each piece is labeled (which is good), and the instructions are fairly easy to follow. As others have said, the instructions are pictorial and sometimes are a little confusing, but I got it put together on the first try and didn't have to go back a step or two. (The very first step is confusing -- it shows the front and back of the same board but at first glance appears to be showing two boards.)One good thing about it is that it can be used on desks with left or right returns or knee wells to the left or right. It's just a touch under 18" from the desk top to the bottom of the first shelf. My Acer 23" screen G245HD monitor easily fits with a low profile web cam on top.I'm thinking about building some shelves to fill in either side of my monitor. This would give more storage space and also support the shelf (that seems to have an issue with sagging over time; see other reviews). There is a lot of open space under the first shelf, and I'll try to make better use of that space. It's 57.5" wide, outside dimensions, so it easily and safely sits on my 60" desk. I did not attach it to the desk (though brackets are included); it sits solidly and I don't think it would fall over short of someone grabbing it and pulling pretty hard.

It is good looking and functional
I bought this unit to fit on top of my Bush Cabot Corner Desk. It is good looking and functional, but I have some concerns. There really is no center support, and since it's constructed of particleboard, I'm already seeing some drooping. Also, the way it attaches to the desk is very tricky to achieve without doing some damage. I found it better to just fasten two pair of angle brackets directly on the inner bottom edges and to screw them into the desktop. It may not look as pretty, but it's sturdier and easier. And besides, they get all covered up by stuff on your desktop anyways. So right now, it serves it's function and looks good, but I know sooner or later I'll have to retrofit something to correct the drooping. It's been a few years and this hutch is still doing it's job. My fear of droopage turned out to be unfounded. The laminate finish is absolute garbage however, but unlike the desk, there are no wear areas. The large flat area under the bottom shelf was serving as a sort of bulletin board but is a little too thin to hold pushpins very well. So I bought some 12x12 cork board squares and attached them using contact cement. Now I have a nice large eye-level cork board to pin all my important business papers on. One thing you have to be careful about. Don't forget to close the glass uplifting door when you're done with it. I've had a few painful episodes where I forgot and stood up, whacking my head on the corner.

Magnificent Hutch!
I'm so glad I ignored a few negative reviews! Anyone who says this hutch sags or is at all faulty must not have put it together correctly. I bought the desk as well, and the hutch sits on top of it and looks magnificent! It's even more impressive than any photo can show. The instructions were somewhat frustrating at times but just go slowly, lay everything out, and you'll figure it out. I did not use the metal braces to attach it to the desk. It just sits on top, very sturdy and solid (obviously with the wall behind it, otherwise it would be an unsafe risk to have it topple over). This desk and hutch set are the most beautiful and affordable option for those who want a desk and hutch that will last a long time. Highly recommend it!Edited: After over a year of having this I can clearly say it's magnificent! Not a single scratch and the hutch is still as perfect as when I assembled it. I can tell it will last me for years, if not for the rest of my life.
