Good and sturdy. Just from the sound, its nice and thick.

The only downside is that it needs a good wash before use to get rid of the dust from manufacturing. This is a good mortar pestle, sturdy as heck. I have fine motor disability and this was still easy to use. The roughness of the stone helps with the grinding. The handle fits nicely and grips well. The non slip pad works well for the bottom, keeps it in place well. This will most likely last me a lifetime. Might even pass it down to my children 😄

I’m asian so I like to make chili sauce or mushed my garlic before cooking. I love this little guy and I use it everyday. But because it’s tiny sometimes stuff can fly out of it. But overall, it works well, strong, and has great quality. It doesn’t move when I use it 🥰 easy to clean too if you soak water in it everytime you’re done using it. I highly recommend buying this!

It is a heavy mortar with slip resistance. Comes in handy with adequate depth for grinding your own home grown herbs and seasoning into desired consistency. It is also a decorative touch to the kitchen.

A tremendously effective mortar that has a large capacity and decent weight for stability. It has a skid resistant pad that adheres to the bottom to prevent sliding. Just season it like the included instructions tell you and you're ready to rock.

I have a smaller marble mortar and pestle set and it really does not do the job. The Gorilla Grip set has a larger capacity and is, no pun intended, rock solid. The granite texture just seems to do a better job of grinding up the herbs and spices that I use it for. It's built to last a lifetime. I highly recommend it!

Solid granite...hard to argue for better material! Love to use for grinding fresh spices (especially Sichuan green peppercorns)!
