Great light with two small gripes
This is an excellent light. It uses a halogen bulb which gives a warmer light than an LED, with the expense of added heat. I will be using it as an incident light source for a microscope, among other things.I gave it four stars instead of five for two reasons. First, the bass has four rubber feet which are sturdily attached with machine screws. As an afterthought, the manufacturer apparently added a fifth foot - a stick-on type - in the front which was not exactly level with the other four, causing the unit to slightly rock. Removing it fixed the problem - it just pops off with some thumb pressure. The base is very stable, and the additional foot entirely superfluous. My second, also small gripe is that the bulb hood/reflector is obviously machined to take a tiny diffuser or color filter. LittLite should include a couple. The light from the naked bulb is a bit "lumpy." This lamp is used in close proximity to whatever you are trying to see, and a diffuser would improve the quality of the light. I made one with some translucent plastic and it smoothed the light a lot, improving it.Expensive and worth it.

Great light but loose
This is a replacement of almost the same light, It got lost during a move post-divorce. The light is still great however the gooseneck was not tightly attached to the base. I fixed it, it might have happened during the shipping as it was minimally wrapped in the box. I would buy it again since the light is exactly what I wanted.

Great light for my keyboard
These lights are iconic for a good reason. They work great and are very durable.

A dimming LittLite is just right
A very nice light. My mixer board LittLite socket went wonky, but this light is an even better replacement since it is also a dimmer. I was a bit surprised that there is no definite 'off' click, but turning it all the way down is off, and that seems fine. It is a perfect light for me.

Not as well made as they used to be, think twice
The gooseneck won't stay in place as well as the older models. It's more floppy and you have to "fiddle" with it to get it exactly where you want it... and even then it will droop at times. Also, the weighted base is now noticeably MUCH LIGHTER than the older models. So, again, it will tend to flop over if the gooseneck is used to its full length. These used to be very robust, well made, reliable lights, a staple backstage light found in every event's traveling road case. Hundreds of them sometimes, depending on the size of the show. Hey, that's why they cost about ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! People paid that BECAUSE THEY WORKED. But no more. Event crews and technicians have much better things to spend their time on when setting up a show, than to mess around with this light, trying to get it to stay in place. Before the pandemic hit, I had noticed more and more simple small, cheap lights on show site, with littlelights nowhere to be found. These are not as well made as they used to be, and because of that, not worth the ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR price. Whatever the big brains at the company changed in their manufacturing process, it cheapened the entire device, making it a pale shadow of its former robustness. Finally, my last observation, is that the one I ordered didn't come with the plastic knob that goes over the dimming switch. No big deal really, but it just shows how far down the scale of caring about customer satisfaction this company has fallen, when they are still charging ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a now-shoddy device with missing parts. Not worth it anymore.
