Surprisingly easy
This worked perfectly on my 2013 VW Tiguan. It was surprisingly easy to install and I did it myself in the parking lot with ease. I’ve only had it a couple weeks, so we’ll see how well it holds up. I’ll come back and update my review if it does fail, but so far so good!!

Quick & Easy Install
This product was super easy to install. Took 20 mins all around, and the majority of that was fighting the panels in my car. The actual product took less than a minute. Sturdy and strong.

Aftermarket Chinese latch at less than 20% of the cost of the Italian made original. Although
Great price. Perfect fit. Worked great until today. Only 9 months old and now just makes grinding noise. No longer opens the hatch. Bummer.

Great deal. Also works for VW Beetle 2012.
I've replaced this Latch on VW Beetle 2012, and works perfect.The original Latch died, doesn't lock, keeps vibrating for 5sec when its try to unlatch. Replacing this Latch is a cinch, requires M8 torx bit with 12point star; however, need to remove 4 inner panels on the rear door beforehand, which requires good amount of work.The original PN 5M0827505F is MSRP $186.67, so I've saved $165 plus labor. I guess PN suffix "F" is a revision code, and "5M0827505E" purchased from amazon worked just fine.

Stopped working in only two weeks
This was an easy install and was functional for about a week. Two weeks after install and the latch doesn't hold the rear hatch closed anymore. Must be low quality. The OEM part lasted ten years!
