It’s not a micrometer but good tool to have.
Excellent for the money

Nice simple little tool to help with car maintenance
Honestly. If you ever felt you got scammed on a brake job, you can help yourself avoid that fate with a rotor caliper. I also recommend a brake pad gauge to compliment. You just take a measurement on each rotor ( you’ll likely have to take the wheel off), and use a pad gauge to measure the pad thickness. Call the dealer and ask what the minimum thickness is for the front & rear rotors, in mm. (Or convert the imperial to metric) and boom. You know if your due for rotors and pads (if you have a pad gauge too).

Pretty solid quality for the price
Pretty solid quality for the price. Much faster than a digital caliper, no need to zero out and fiddle with batteries. Will only give you accuracy to 1 decimal point so this isn't for measuring parallism. Some specs are to the thousandths.

Cheap and inaccurate
Really cheap... would definitely skip this item and go with a digital one if I had to do it again!

a little chintzy but it does work

Inexpensive, but does the job nicely!
This is a very basic analogue gadget when compared to some of the fancy digital gauges out there which are at least three or four times the price of this one.Importantly, the calipers on this gadget are extended out at the ends which means you can nicely get past and over any lips which have developed on your brake rotors and allow for an accurate measurement from the center. There is also a handy mechanism which allows you to lock down the measurement as you take it, then slightly retract one of the arms to remove the device without disturbing the measurement for easier reading. The millimeter markings are accurate - while you won't get the multiple decimal point accuracy of a digital gauge, this is plenty good enough to know if, say, your 30mm thick brake disc is at or beyond its wear limit of 27mm.No batteries = no hassle and for a tool which for most people will likely see only very occasional use, why spend $$$ extra on a fancy digital gauge which is overkill for this application.

Easy to use
This makes it very easy to measure the rotors, however the unit is not 100% accurate. It’s a bit off. I learned how to compensate it.
