Kelty Sonic 6-Person Airpitch Tent

I bought this tent to go camping with my two boys (3 and 1 year) The air pitch system takes some getting used to but once you have the hang of it is nice! I would say for an experienced camper its probably not any faster than a traditional tent with flex poles but it sure is easier. Plus no poles for the kids to hurt themselves with or step on and break when setting up and tearing down. Inside is wide open with room for a double air mattress, kid size air mattress and a pack and play for the baby. It is also tall, I am 6 foot and at the tallest point I can stand up fully, which is nice for changing.This tent doesn't have a rain fly which is good and bad. Nice to not have the extra fly and guy wires for kids to trip over, but it has a lot less ventilation than a tent with a rain fly removed. We have been camping in the rain many times and had 0 leaks.The tent is rather large and heavy when packed so you would want to use this when car camping or when you only have a short walk to the site.For Families or anyone that just wants a cavernous shelter this is a great tent.

I was skeptical about this but it was actually wonderful! There is ample space--more than the REI 6 person tent. This fits two air bed queen size mattresses. Much better than a traditional tent--the time before when we went camping it took at least half an hour to put up the tent. My husband did this one while I was getting stuff out of the car. I took it down myself with a little "help" from my five year old and it was also VERY easy--five minutes with a little extra to sit on the bag to get it to close. Also, it rained on us and no water got inside.

The most poorly designed piece of equipment I have ever encountered in three decades of camping. The tent poles are extremely prone to leaking and are next-to-impossible to repair in the field (maybe MacGyver could do it but as an Eagle Scout I couldn't, so good luck). It is a great idea, but Kelty has executed on it miserably.Having read some concerning reviews, I tested the tent indoors before going camping. It worked well, but when I took it on a trip the next day, the air poles had leaks that caused the tent to collapse completely. Luckily, I observed the Scout Motto ("Be Prepared") and had lugged my 20-year-old Eureka dome tent on the trip and was able to go back to it.Lesson learned: stick with a proven technology and run - don't walk - away from this product.

Great tent! Super fast to set up maybe 4 minutes. Held up to a pretty serious down pour! My only complaint is with no rain fly the door get soaked with water and when you open the door all the water falls inside. But that is really my only complaint. And make sure you pump up the tubes with enough pressure or the tent will be saggy. The tent is huge plenty of room for a queen air mattress, bags and a dog with his huge bed.

love it i go camping by myself and this tent is so easy to set up

My kid and i used it for the first time the other week when we went camping. Quick to set up, quick to take down. The longest part of it all is it takes more time folding it back up to put away. Wish it had an added barrier of some type so not to track stuff into the tent.

We loved how fast it went up. Our 9 year old grand daughter was able to help it was so easy. Wasn't crazy about the fact it didn't have a removal top. We like looking at the stars at night. Definitely worth the purchase !
