NOVA Medical Products Star DX Rollator WalkerI live in a retirement community and there are lots of roller-walkers used here. They are seldom talked about so this review comes from my own experience, and my observation of other walkers. From my observation there are only two NOVA brand rollators, and only one NOVA DX series rollator here. All the other walkers I see are manufactured by DRIVE.The design of this Star series of NOVA walkers was very well thought out and has many features that set it apart. To start with, it is very strong and well made. Fit and finish are outstanding.The first unique feature is that the height of both the handles and seat can be adjusted, by just pressing a push button. They can also be removed or reinstalled by pressing the same push button.The back rest is adjustable and can be removed or reinstalled by pressing a push button.The hand rest design is fantastic. It is contoured so that the hand and thumb naturally rest in a position where the brake can be applied by just squeezing the handle – no movement of hand at all. This is a major safety factor.This unit has a removable padded seat insert that is contoured and comfortable. It can be removed to provide a flat surface for things to transmit. It is also formulated to accept the accessory tray.All in all, tis is a superior item.

This is my first rollator and I am really liking it. I like that I can adjust the seat to be lower (I am 5’3”). The larger wheels means I can bring a full glass of water or tea from the kitchen onto the carpet and use it in our backyard (which is not level and has a lot of obstacles). The wheels move very smoothly and you can turn quite easily. It fits through our (what I assume is) standard doors in the house. I plan on purchasing the optional tray to help with any accidental spills. I was able to adjust the height of the handles on my own, and with slight help the seat height. It folds easily and the handles are comfortable (they have a slight amount of give to them which helps it not feel jarring going over bumps). I LOVE the purple color (as red is my least favorite color and what many walkers seem to come in). I like that from what I can tell, it does not contain PVC (which can off gas). It had no noticeable smell when it arrived. It was easy for my dh to put together (and there is a video on the novajoy website to show how to put it together). I would happily buy another NOVA product based on this purchase.

I wanted a wider walker for comfort but the only other wider was so wide I wouldn't have been able to get it in and out of my car on my own. This one is so easy to use. My old one gave me fits cause it kept opening when I tried to get it in the car. This one locks. It is sturdy and looks great. It is so comfortable because it's a little wider. I'm over weight so I needed the extra room. The brakes are great and easy to use and I love the tab to tip it to get it up on the sidewalk. I am very satisfied.

I purchased this because I thought at the weight capacity of 350lbs - it must be well made. This was more than double my weight - but I wanted sturdy and this indeed is. I ordered the blue - but it is barely blue (which is fine). The seat is wonderful. This was not easy to put together but once it was done - well worth the effort. I like the fact that I no longer have to lock it in place when not using. It doesn’t roll away at the slightest touch.Perfect hand grips and tires. Someone spent a lot of time designing this.It is heavy duty and not easily lifted in a trunk if you are weak.Yes, I am glad I purchased this walker. It like the Cadillac of walkers.

Love Nova walkers and this new model has some nice features ie adjust height however I need it to carry my cat in his case in event of tornado warnings but his case won't fit on seat anymore -- seat is not as wide as previous model which is a shame.

It arrives very well protected so I am not sure how, but somehow there was a small damage spot on the handle of the one we received. I will just get some touch-up paint for it. I was glad I watched the assembly video so I knew how everything went together so I could assemble it for my mom. She is in her early 70s with a variety of ailments and I don't think she could have assembled it herself. It is a little heavy for her so I try to convince her to put it in the backseat area so it is lower to the ground since putting it in the trunk takes up almost all the space. It is easy to put flat, you just must remember to lock the wheels. She does find it easy to push around the house and has had no issues navigating any areas. It is important to check those measurements though to be sure it will fit in everywhere you need it. All together though, it is very stable, moves incredibly well and feels very solid. She is very pleased with it.

After a couple of falls, my dr recommended I start using a walker for my walks in the park for support if my legs or ankles felt weak. Reluctantly I did. This walker is sturdy, stable, easy to handle, easy to fold for storage in my car & above all else, has style. It does not look like my grandmas walker. After a month or so of use, I wouldn’t think of my walks in the park without it.
