Zoey & Ryan
I love love love this story!! Ryan is protective and even when he doesn't know why he's helping, he knows it's the right thing to do.Zoey is amazing & bubbly when she is allowed to bloom! And she loves IKEA as much as I do - I wish I had Ryan's unlimited budget to shop there! Swedish meatballs & lingonberry sauce & furniture & homegoods...!The only thing taking away from this being a five star read is the SOB (seemingly obligatory breakup). Although I understand where Ryan was coming from, so from a storyline perspective the reasons make sense, book-wise I felt it went on too long. The heartbreak part could have been over quickly with some communication, and they could have accomplished the goal in a different way.Despite that hiccup, I still adore them & this story, and am happy I read it!!😍😍😍

One of my favorite reads of the year!
Omg! Where do I even start with this one? This book made me feel so much! Both characters are perfect. Zoey is the sweetest girl who just wants to decorate her house in IKEA and you can’t help falling in love with her! She comes from such a rough background that all you want to do is just hug her! Out main man was equally as sweet! He is so protective of sweet Zoey and just wants her to be safe and happy!I loved every minute of this book and this author is quickly becoming a favorite!

emotional rollercoaster
I haven’t connected with a book couple in a while and Ryan and zoey renewed my romance readers warm heart. I could not have swooned more if I tried, this book was so well written and the characters were so incredible. Ryan had a heart of gold to a fault and zoey stayed optimistic despite horrific hurdles she’d jumped and sometimes fell from.Krista and Mica and even frank were the supporting cast dreams are made of.I ached for these two to be together. I cried when they cried, I was on the edge of my seat with the will they won’t they back and forth and my heart was fully healed by the end of their love story. This is one sports romance with a hea you do not want to miss,

for me
This book was great. I love the entire group. They found family was just perfect without being too much. I loved this book. The characters were great. It was a little spicy but not a lot. I love hockey books and this is pretty good. I would recommend this. Few things I disliked like many little tiny truly tiny details were overlooked/left unresolved but idc. This book is great. I couldn’t put it down. I read this all in one sitting. So good! 4/5

FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY
I am not really into sports romances. I don't mind them as long as the sports aren't talked about constantly. I was hesitant on this one but so many of my favorite book tubers were ranting and raving. I was not disappointed. I laughed, I cried, I couldn't put it down.

Good story, sweet leads
KU subscription. This was one of the sweetest romances I’ve ever read. I loved both of the leads, the FMC, Zoey, really having a great character arc, and the MMC, Ryan, being a great book boyfriend. Ryan meets Zoey in a coffee shop, where she helps him do something on his laptop, and helping him makes her late for an appointment. He gives her a ride and learns that she is too late to get into a homeless shelter. He gives her shelter for the night and in a series of events ends up rescuing her after she is attacked. A couple of nights while she heals turns into more than that as they develop a relationship where he loves helping her and she surprises him with how much she enjoys little things like IKEA. I so much loved the whole IKEA thing. There were times in the middle where I thought the book was too long, but I really enjoyed the growth of their relationship, how understanding and loyal Ryan was, and how joyful Zoey could be. She is probably one of my favorite FMCs in a romance book.I would have loved to have given it a five star rating except, as is common with a lot of romance books, the middle bogs down in a back-and-forth internal dialogue where the FMC continues to have doubts about how much the MMC can care about her, and the MMC has the same misgivings about how much he should care for her. The thing that saves the story is that, on Zoey’s part anyway, you can see from past history why there would be so much insecurity and doubts. One other thing that I did not like about the book was, and this is unfortunately common in romance books, the cartoonish other woman in the story. I don’t understand why women authors have to paint such an ugly picture of other women when they write these stories. You can insert jealousy into a story without the “competitor” being vicious or hateful, and writing in such an over-the-top manner. I mean, no one believes that a newly hired employee would be that boldly hateful to someone who is obviously important to the person they are working for. The male character the author wrote as competition for Ryan wasn’t written like that; in fact, he was written early on as a believable, funny, sincere suitor for Zoey and will probably get his own book.Bottom line, though, this is the rare romance book that I will read again. The two leads here were simply wonderful, and the author did a great job of giving them a romance worthy of them. Really great supporting characters, too.

a fun read
Ryan is a really good guy and I totally love the chemistry and dynamic between him and zoey. Zoey is so clever and strong while Ryan is so gentle and takes good care of her. But I’m not a fan of the ending. The reasons of their temporary breakup seem ridiculous to me. Overall this is still a good read for me, just not my favourite.

Different, sweet, slow burn and hot in places
This is a very different concept with Zoey being a unique character. She is homeless and first meets Ryan in a cafe where she helps him with his expenses. After she gets beaten up Ryan ends up taking her in and they begin a friendship. It starts to develop into more on both sides but Ryan pulls back when he realises how unequal their relationship is.I enjoyed this book, the unusual situation, Ryan's generosity and kindness, Zoey's sweetness and the way a whole group of people get behind and support Zoey. I enjoyed the unlikely friendship between Zoey and Krista. It was more than just a romance book.. it was about a group of different people brought together by Zoey as they all help her transform her life. I like how even Frank, the grumpy accountant, became happier and more sociable because of Zoey.It was realistic and mature for Ryan to let Zoey go to stand on her own feet. There were some inconsistencies such as Ryan's mum turning up on way to Vegas. Seemed out of character. Also the PA was unnessassarily horrible to Zoey. It seems unlikely she would have lasted as long as she did. And no replacement was ever mentioned. And the abuse background wasn't elaborated on and it didn't explain why Terrance was such a danger to Zoey's friends.Looking forward to the next book about Mica. He was such a good friend to Zoey and Ryan in this book.
