Lavender-Colored Sleeping Gel Hydrator; No Fragrance But Has Essential Oils and Extracts
The Acsen SOS Sleeping Mask by Troiareuke (Korean Skincare) comes safety-sealed in a 1.69oz plastic lavender tube coupled with freebie sample skincare from the same line. This sleeping mask is a hint on the pricier side for $42 (when I got it). Sleeping masks are used at the end of your PM routine and is meant to remain on the skin overnight. You complete your regular skincare regime, and if you wish to seal in extra hydration, you slather on a sleeping pack (sometimes the term sleeping pack and sleeping mask are used interchangeably) like this one. This one is a medium-weight gel, purple like all the packaging. You apply sleeping masks 1-2x a week, in an even layer, and the next morning you wash as you normally would. You use about the amount I have pictured, something between a generous dime or nickel-sized amount, depending on your needs (face, or face and neck).Surprisingly, it has absolutely no scent whatsoever. I’m surprised because the laundry list of ingredients (hydrators, plant extracts, and essential oils) is very long. Usually, something with this much “stuff” in it is going to have a scent, even one natural to the product. But this one does not. Nor do I see “added fragrance” on the label. Please see the included images for the complete ingredient list. Highlights focus on the hyaluronic acid and panthenol (vitamin b5). It also has niacinamide, another skin-friendly b-vitamin. HA is second to last on the list. I get so frustrated when I have to hunt for a list, so when I can, I try to share one. I have sensitive skin and like to know what I’m putting on my face. For user reference, I have mature (over 40), sensitive, product-reactive, congestion-prone, acne-prone, fair, combination skin. This mask was pleasant (soothing and cooling on the skin) to use and well-tolerated (no rashes or breakouts so far), though I would still recommend you patch test elsewhere first before going full-tilt with a night of this all over your face and neck. Applied atop dry skin, this does have a sticky feel. Applied overtop layers of your prepped for bed skin, this is not sticky or heavy, and does built into the hydration. The next morning, my face is glowy and soft. I wouldn’t use it more than 1-2x a week myself, only because I’m still concerned about possible sensitivity to all of the extracts and essential oils in this product. I use this on the nights I’m not using my acne-or active topicals and want to give my face the night off, so to speak. Some nights it is nice to just wash, tone, and layer on some hydrating serums, maybe a sheetmask, some moisturizer, and finish with a sleeping pack. This type of routine (assuming you aren’t using anything harsh or BHAs, AHAs, and strong acids) will help built up and protect the moisture lipid barrier of your skin. The Acsen Sleeping Mask does as promised: helps to promote hydration in the skin.I likely would not get this again, as, like I said, it is a hint on the pricier side. And I have other sleeping packs/masks which are equally as nice to use without as many essential oils and extracts. Just because something is natural, certain plants are just not going to be skin-suitable for everyone.I hope this review was helpful.

Oily girl here, impressed by how this balanced out my sensitive skin!
This product is a very good one. Pricy, but very good! I have sensitive, oily, aging skin. I’d love to try their pore mask, after trying this mask out. That’s my major, oily skin problem. But this one fit the bill pretty well.It did not at all over-dry my face, actually unlike my other over the counter masks that tend to do that, it was actually moisturizing, which was unexpected, but nice. I didn’t feel all tight and sensitive. My doctor always tells me that no matter how oily your skin is, drying it out isn’t the answer. It still needs moisture, which sounds opposite to a normal person like myself, but he’s right. He’s a top, Manhattan dermatologist, so I trust in him.My sebum is constantly pumping out, so leveling things out to create a balance is key. This seemingly does help with that. I do feel like my skin is more balanced overall, and you aren’t left feeling greasy, just ever so slightly dewy and refreshed!Yes, it is expensive. You don’t need to use much per treatment, nor do you have to use it nightly, so it does make up for some of that price point there. I have a mask I was using daily, so yeah, I needed a big tub of that stuff, but this one is different.I’d be curious to know how this would help my daughter, a teen, with highly acne prone skin. I’m oily and larger pored, and sadly am now struggling with small sebaceous cysts that are making me very sad about my appearance, but no acne. If it helps with that, (acne/cysts) it would push it up that final star, but for me.. I will rate this product a solid 4 star rating for what I have seen from testing out this product. For me, that’s darned good, and if you have red, sensitive, burny skin as I do, this product will NOT cause you any increase in your normal sensitivity. Meaning, no added irritation for your skin. It feels quite gentle. I would recommend this product to others!

Remember Gangnam Style?I hope you're smiling and remembering the fun dance created by South Korea's PSY. If you weren't familiar with Gangnam, it's the Rodeo Drive of Korea. You're going to find world-renowned ultra luxury skin care spas. And yes, some of them use products from this company! After trying this out, it's no surprise. Think of it as a moisturizer that you apply thickly and keep on your face all night long to do its magic. In the morning, rinse with fresh water. I like to saturate cotton pads in distilled water after using this. After such a pleasant treatment I'm not going to ruin it with our cistern water.A couple of times a week and my skin feels softer and more hydrated, despite living in what's known as high desert. Almost no humidity.Like many Korean products, it contains a combination of botanicals as well as proven synthetic and chemical components. Truly the best both worlds.I hope this review has made you smile, as well as help you to make a decision about whether or not this is right for you. If you like all natural products, 100% organic, etc, this might not be for you. If you don't mind a product containing ingredients from a range of philosophies, I think you'll like this if you need hydration for your skin.By the way, not only am I in high desert, but for reference, I'm early 60's with combination skin and slight rosacea on my cheeks.
